| It was over when ... A Tom Brady pass attempt to Joey Galloway on fourth-and-10 was batted down by safety Kerry Rhodes. The Patriots turned the ball over on downs, allowing the Jets to run out the clock.
Game ball The Jets defense did not record a single sack on Brady, but Rex Ryan's constant blitzes -- at times using six or seven men to rush the passer -- were effective enough to throw Brady and Co. off their game. The Jets hurried Brady 15 times and knocked him down five times. A week after holding Andre Johnson to four catches and 35 yards, Jets CB Darrelle Revis blanketed Randy Moss and limited him to four catches for 24 yards.
Key stat The Patriots committed 11 penalties for 89 yards, including three delay of game penalties -- two coming on consecutive plays in the third quarter. Ryan went to the phones to solicit the help of Jets season ticket holders and his tactic proved to be effective as Giants Stadium has never been louder.
Noteworthy The Patriots were held without an offensive touchdown for the first time since Dec. 10, 2006 vs. the Miami Dolphins. ... The game was the 100th meeting between these two teams, who enetered the game tied 49-49-1 in the overall series. ... Ryan is the first Jets head coach to start 2-0 since Al Groh led the Jets to a 4-0 start in the 2000 season. ... Patriots WR Wes Welker was inactive due to a knee injury. ... Jets CB Lito Sheppard left with a quad injury in the first half and did not return.

| The Jets defense was all over Brady, all day long. Sanchez did not do much in the first half, but they came out in the second half and gave him the chance to throw it. Pats killed themselves with those penalties. A lot of them were mental errors that you do not expect NE to make.
I was not ready to jump on the NYJ bandwagon last week because it was one win agianst a 8-8 team, but they did what they said they would do, they got after Brady.
You can't blame losing the game on injuries, but the Pats did miss Wes Welker. They had a rookei going in his place.
