TNA Hardcore Championship?

The matches would be pretty entertaining and it would be different to WWE's lack of hardcore stuff in recent years. The Global Title is just a poor IC belt at the moment so at least this would set it apart from the other TNA straps. I hope they go ahead with this. Homicide or Raven would be awesome champions - although I know both are highly unlikely.

They will continue to copy WWE's Mankind and have Abyss winning the Hardcore Championship.

Either 2 things:

1-They're going ahead with the ECW stable and they'll use the switch from Global to Hardcore Championship to launch the stable.

2-They wanna capitalize on WWE's family-oriented product and lure in the 18-34 demographic with a more Attitude-like product.

I don't really know personally what they're aiming for but let's just hope the execution won't suck.

Eh...can't say I hate it. Could be a good step foreward. Give them those crazy stipulation matches they (used to) like booking every other week.

I still think Raven could have a world title reign.

I wonder how "Hardcore" they are going to get. If they use blood, barb wire, and stuff every week, it will get old quickly. It would like Abyss has thumb tacks...again. Yay.

Anyway, Sounds alright for a short while but as CJ pointed out. It will get old quickly.

They are probably doing this to prepare for the ECW invasion too though.

I like the idea of a more attitude era type thing.

All blood all the time will lessen the effect of it. Does everyone remember the first time Cactus Jack brought out the barbed wire bat? It was shocking to see a WWE feud come to barbed wire. Then, the barbed wire became expected and it took away the impact of the weapon. I have to tell you, I am not interested in anything TNA is doing right now, but, I would watch an ECDub type thing, for a short while.

Valid point but I was more getting at 'What ever happened to the main promotions bring in a TV Championship' i.e. WCW, ECW etc.

If TNA brings in a hardcore championship I'd be willing to bet that it would increase some ratings.

Just because it's something not being done mainstream right now.

Global Championship? Too much like the US and IC belts.

X-Division? So much like a European Title...nobody really recognizes it anymore.

Although if they did the hardcore thing it would totally help with the brand split.

How in the hell is the X division anything like the European Championship?
