CBS announced its fall premiere dates this morning:

CBS announced today that most of its new and returning series will premiere during the week of Sept. 20, the official start of the 2010-2011 season. The exceptions are SURVIVOR: NICARAGUA, which launches a week earlier, and THE GOOD WIFE and CSI: MIAMI, which both debut a week later.

CBS will get an early start on the season with the premiere of SURVIVOR: NICARAGUA, the 21st edition of the hit reality series, which launches in its new time period on Wednesday, Sept. 15 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT).

CBS's new season rollout officially begins on Monday, Sept. 20 with the season six debut of HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER (8:00-8:30 PM, ET/PT), followed by the fifth season premiere of RULES OF ENGAGEMENT (8:30-9:00 PM, ET/PT), the eighth season premiere of television's #1 comedy, TWO AND A HALF MEN (9:00-9:30 PM, ET/PT), the series premiere of MIKE & MOLLY (9:30-10:00 PM, ET/PT) and the series debut of HAWAII FIVE-0 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT).

NCIS, television's #1 drama, returns for its eighth season on Tuesday, Sept. 21 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT), followed by the two-hour second season premiere of NCIS: LOS ANGELES (9:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT), last season's #1 new scripted series.

On Wednesday, Sept. 22, CRIMINAL MINDS (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) returns for its sixth season followed by the series debut of THE DEFENDERS (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT).

On Thursday, Sept. 23, CBS opens its new one-hour comedy block on television's biggest night with the fourth season premiere of THE BIG BANG THEORY (8:00-8:30 PM, ET/PT) -the fastest-growing series on television and the #1 scripted program in adults 18-49 - heading into the irreverent new comedy, $#*! MY DAD SAYS (8:30-9:00 PM, ET/PT). CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION returns for its 11th season (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT), followed by the third season premiere of THE MENTALIST (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT).

The Network's new Friday lineup premieres Sept. 24 with MEDIUM's second season on CBS (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT), followed by a new two-hour block of New York-based crime dramas featuring the seventh season premiere of CSI: NY in its new (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) time period and the series debut of the new police drama BLUE BLOODS (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT).

48 HOURS MYSTERY, Saturday's most-watched program, returns on Sept. 25 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT).

Premiering on Sunday, Sept. 26 is the 43rd season of 60 MINUTES, television's longest- running and highest-rated newsmagazine (7:30-8:30 PM, ET/PT, time approximate following late-running football), followed by a 90-minute premiere of the multi-Emmy Award-winning THE AMAZING RACE (8:30-10:00 PM, ET/PT) and the Emmy Award-nominated UNDERCOVER BOSS, last season's #1 new program (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT).

The Emmy Award-nominated THE GOOD WIFE returns for its sophomore season on Tuesday, Sept. 28 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT).

I can't wait for this season to premiere. How I Met Your Mother is on thin ice for me. I love the show, but season five, overall, was horrible. If season six continues, I might have to drop the show. Rules of Engagement is actually my favorite sitcom on CBS because of HIMYM's decline, so I'm hoping for a full season pick up. Two and A Half Men should be good, a little disappointed Charlie is returning. I wanted to see how they would've handled it, but I'll get over it. Mike & Molly doesn't seem to good. I know one of the actors on it, and I believe it's another Chuck Lorre show, so it will probably be good. Big Bang Theory will probably be good as always. How lucky is that My Dad Says show. No high expectations for ratings like on Monday, and it's lead in is the very popular Big Bang Theory. Looks like William Shaftner (sp?) will be on for awhile. I am looking forward to that show.

Every network has a couple of shows that will be canceled and Mike & Molly will probably be it. I love Criminal Minds, it is one of my favorite crime shows on TV. I am also looking forward to the mid-season Criminal Minds spin-off, but I will have to wait till the first of the year for that.

^I wouldn't be so sure about that, The Big Bang Theory looked like it was going to get cancelled, but has become the chnnels second biggest comedy. It's also created by the same guy as Two and A Half Men and Big Bang, so it very well might become another hit.

I like Criminal Minds but I've only seen like five episodes of it, and I doubt I'm going to start watching it.

I love Criminal Minds, I have seen every episode. You never know how new shows will do, but I remember one that CBS did 2 years ago and I hated it. It was called Worst Day Ever or something and it wasn't funny.

There are certian names in the TV industry, that are almost automatic. Bruchiemer (I can't spell) Chuck Lorre, JJ Abrams, and a few others. You know that there shows will get the promotion it needs to be successfull.

^By Worst Day Ever, do you mean Worst Week? I thought that was pretty decent, although a few episodes in the quality really started to decline, and the whole episodes kept jumping around from plotline to a completely different one.

Yes, that one. I thought is was terrible and kept getting worse. I also hate the one about the chick that was knocked up during a one night stand. It was on last season, but I can't think of the name.

They're doing a Criminal Minds spin-off? That sounds great!

And Y2J X, you really have to start watching it regularly 'cause it's an awesome show. It's probably my favorite show on TV during the fall and I rarely miss an episode, even when there's hockey on during winter.

The only bummer for me right now is that they've cut AJ Cook and they're seemingly cutting airtime for Paget Brewster. But then again, I thought the show would go haywire when they replace the Jason Gideon character (sorry, drawing a blank on the actor's name) by David Rossi but Joe Mantegna's doing great and the show doesn't really have missed a beat.

That really pisses me off, when I watched the show (apparantly, they were early episodes), he was my favorite character, by far. After doing research, the fact that the actor (Mandy something) left on his own accord somehow makes it more bareable, even if the reasons I've read that he left are stupid. I might start watching it, if they have it on Netflix, for streaming.

YES! Mandy Patinkin! That's the name I was looking for. Thanks, Sykster!

On a vaguely-related subject, did anybody knew that former NFL coach Jimmy Johnson was cast in Survivor: Nicaragua this fall? Man, that oughta make for some inspiring motivational tribe speeches!

Mandy Patinkin had all kinds of demands and refused to shoot the rest of his contract. He wanted exec producer credit, more money, and shit like that. I think that Joe Montania is better anyway. He plays Rossi by the way.

LOL, You mean Joe Mantegna. This is Joe Montania

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qpj73xhGvmM

^Classic scene btw^

Anywho, Mantegna is a great actor. He is the voice of Fat Tony and is films like Godfather III and Airheads.

Plus he was in The Last Don which is great

I already told you I can't spell, but yes, that is the guy. Very Happy Patinkin left the show in mid season, forcing them to come up with a dumb way to write out Gidon. He wasn't worth the trouble and ^^This guy is better.

I read that Patinkin hard to work with on his other shows as well.

Actually, that's not true. I did some research and it wasn't about money. It was apparantly about creative differences. More specifically, not liking the voilent images.

Quote :
"I loathe those violent images and I want no part of that type of violence. I work with the writers and producers constantly to try and tamper that violence down," Patinkin said of some of the gruesome content of the show, which earned Criminal Minds criticism from its very debut.

Patinkin had been attracted to the series, he said, because he was interested in the intellectual journey of the criminal's mind, the interrogator's mind, and the victim's situation and history.

Ummmm, the show is about a FBI, BAU team, hunting serial killers, across the country. He took off right in the middle of the season and that is what pisses me off. He did not live up to his contract and he fucked them in mid-season. He was just gone and he forced them to introduce a new character, right after the Nov break. It was like one week Gidon was there. The next week, he was gone and the only explanation was a note, left behind by Gidon. The show is doing awesome without him, so whatever.

Oh, I know. The way he left sucked and was a dick move. I was just clarifying that he didn't leave because of money, but because he had a problem with the violence on the show.
