Breaking news on Mayweather and possible replacement

According to KVVU Channel 5 out of Las Vegas, Police served a search warrant Monday at the home of Floyd Mayweather Jr. Police stated that the boxer's car was found at the scene of a shooting. The shooting happened at the Crystal Palace, which is a skating rink on Boulder Highway. No one was injured in the shooting.

TMZ.com spoke with Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s father regarding the story, and he stated that he spoke with his son, that the police "ransacked" the home, and that they found nothing. Mayweather Sr. explained that his son's car was at the skating rink because he takes his kids there every Sunday to skate.

According to sources, there is no word on the recent news changing tonight's Raw, which Mayweather is supposed to host.

Mayweather's scheduled appearance has been met with positive publicity thus far, with ESPN and Media Life Magazine covering it.

If Floyd Mayweather Jr. is unable to appear as the guest host on tonight's Raw as advertised, WWE could bring in former wrestler The Godfather as a replacement. The Godfather (a/k/a Charles Wright) manages a strip club in Las Vegas and was rumored for the guest host role in Vegas before WWE announced Mayweather had the gig.

I would rather see the Godfather anyway.

As reported earlier, the home of boxing champ Floyd Mayweather Jr. was searched by Las Vegas Metro police this morning after the his car was found at the scene of a shooting incident last night.

TMZ.com has spoken with Floyd Mayweather Sr. regarding the story, who says the police were looking for a gun and they "ransacked" his son's home, but didn't find anything.

The elder Mayweather said police want to talk to his son about the shooting and defended him, claiming the reason his son's car was at the scene of the shooting (a skating rink) on Sunday was because he son takes his children to the rink to skate on Sundays.

As of this writing, there are no changes to the plan for Floyd Mayweather Jr. to serve as the special guest host of tonight's WWE Raw.

I thought Floyd Meayweather was a great character during his time in WWE from No Way Out to WrestleMania. His cocky rich legitimate athlete persona was pretty cool and he delivered on on the main night too as his match with The Big Show was pretty damn entertaining. I would have liked to see him back in WWE so I feel it's a shame although The Godfather is pretty fun so at least they have a decent replacement.
