WWE House Show Results from Flint, Michigan 8/29/09

Thanks to Andrew B. for sending this report in!

I went to this Raw house show yesterday and quite honestly, it was the most boring WWE event I've ever been to. It was good seeing all of the stars I watch each week, but the event itself where it wasn't a total loss, there wasn't much gain either.

Evan Bourne def. Chavo Guerrero. Hornswoggle interferes and sets Chavo up for Bourne to take control and deliver the SSP for the win. Bourne's SSP is amazing to see not only on TV but moreso in person.

Primo def. Alex Riley. Okay back and fourth match. Riley comes to the ring in a college jacket with the sleeves torn off and his in-ring attire and look resembles that of Sylvain Grenier. Riley has the WORSE leg drop I've ever seen. Primo wins with a Springboard Crossbody Block from the middle rope.

Jillian Hall is in the audience and asks a fan (young boy) a question and if he gets it right he'll win a special prize. The question was "What was WWE's last PPV from the Staples Center?" The kid answered "SummerSlam", he got it right and he and his father got upgraded to first row. He also says that his favorite wrestler was "John Cena".

Chris Masters def. Santino Marella. Before the match, Santino does his normal mic routine but reminds fans of how he made his debut two years ago and Masters gave him a beating then. Didnt he make his debut in Italy versus Umaga and win the Intercontinental Championship? Masters wins with the Masterlock.

Mickie James, Kelly Kelly and Gail Kim def. Beth Phoenix, Alicia Fox and Rosa Mendez. In person, Phoenix isn't as big as she looks on TV. I could take her! LOL. The match was boring as hell. I'm convinced the only reason Mickie gets a pop anymore isn't because of her athletism or her wrestling ability, but because of her looks and the fact that she has gold. Alicia Fox, WTF is WWE thinking when they hired her? She's ugly as shit. Mickie hits her awful spin kick on Alicia Fox, who even takes the kick...wait, did I say she takes the kick? WRONG, Mickie missed from a mile away but she "knocked Fox out cold".

The new announcer brings two kids in the ring to throw out some t-shirts and reminds the audience of the WWEShop stands.

-INTERMISSION-

Kofi Kingston def. The Miz, Jack Swagger and Carlito to retain the United States Championship. This was probably the best and most entertaining match of the night. Kofi Kingston is WAY over with everyone. Nice spots and back and fourth action throughout the entire match. Kofi wins with the Trouble In Paradise on Carlito. Swagger appeared to have a rib or abdominal injury following the match as he needed partial assistance from the ref to walk backstage. Not sure if he was selling the punishment from the match or if he was legitimately injured.

Big Show def. Mark Henry in a "Special Challenge match". Before the match begins, some guy in the front row gets in Big Show's face. From where I was sitting, it looked like Big Show's patience was wearing thin and wanted to blast the guy. Show grabs the mic..."Fat-ass? My rich-ass...how about I buy your house and kick you out of it!" Shit was mad funny to hear live. Definitely the most boring match of the night. Test of strength between the two for the entire match. Show lands the Knockout Punch and gains the victory.

The new announcer plugs 12 Rounds on DVD and reminds fans to rush to the WWE Shop stands and pick up their merchandise.

Triple H and John Cena def. Rhodes and DiBiase. Not the advertised main event (Triple H vs. Big Show: Street Fight), but I'm sure this turned out better than the advertised match would have. Rhodes and DiBiase came out to some pretty intense heat, which was surprising because on live TV it seems as if they dont get much of a reaction. The second best match on the card. Triple H dominates early until he tags in Cena, who has a brief run on top before the double team and heel tactics come into play. Cena finally tags in. Same scenerio, Triple H gets double teamed for what seemed like an hour but finally gets the tag. After Cena does his three-four move routine, Cena delivers the Attitude Adjustment to DiBiase and Triple H delivers the Pedigree to Rhodes and Cena covers DiBiase for the win. After the match Cena and Triple H circle the ring and slap hands and sign posters and whatnot all the way backstage.

Notes:

- There's a new female announcer. Although it was hard to see in the dimmed lighting, she appears to be of asian decent and she has a super nice body and a great voice. She'll be a good replacement for Lillian Garcia, assuming this is what WWE has in mind.

- After the main event and the music ended, nobody thanked the fans for coming out, which was surprising considering every WWE event I've ever been to the announcer always thanks the fans and tells them that they hope to be back soon.

- I took pics and videos, but for whatever reason my camara took the most blurry digital pics I've ever seen and the videos weren't any better. But hey, $5 beers versus the $7-8 I've payed at televised events!

- Most of the advertised matches were changed, including the main event. No MVP, Shawn Michaels or Randy Orton, but Legacy, who wasn't advertised at all did wrestle in the main event.

Thanks to Brian A. for sending this report in!

Just got back from the house show here in Flint. Looked to be a sell out.

Match One- Evan Borune b. Chavo with the Shooting Star Press (Hornswoggle
did interfere towards the end of match)

Match Two- Primo b. Alex Riley

Match Three- Chris Masters b. Santino with the Masterlock

Match Four- Kelly Kelly, Mickie James, and Gail Kim b. Beth Pheonix, Rosa
Mendes, and Alicia Fox. Mickie with the pin

Match Five- Kofi Kingston b. The Miz, Swagger, and Carlito to retain the US
title. Miz hits Swagger with the Reality Check then Carlito hits Miz with
the backstabber and Kofi hits Carlito with the Trouble in Paradise and gets
the cover on Carlito

Match Six- Big Show b. Mark Henry. Very slow and boring. Show hit the punch
on Henry for the win.

Match Seven- Triple H and Cena b. Legacy both Triple H and Cena hit finshers
and Cena pins Teddy Jr. for the win. Cena and the Game pose for awhile and
send the crowd home happy.

Top Cheers.
1. Cena
2. Triple H
3. Kofi
4. Evan Bourne

Top Heat.
1. Legacy
2. Big Show
3. The Miz
4. Swagger

All in all it was a better show than the Smackdown show that was held here 3
years ago. I was kinda bummed that MVP, Jericho and Orton were not there,
but it happens. And the new ring anouncer is very attractive.

Sometimes the house show are great and sometimes they blow. I went to an SD house show in 2004 and it was terrible.

I would like to see HHH wrestle live because everytime the WWE comes to Louisville, he is out for one reason or another.
