BREAKING NEWS: Linda McMahon Resigns as WWE CEO

We have just learned that Linda McMahon has stepped down from her position as CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment in order to run for the United States Senate, representing the state of Connecticut. WWE has released the following statement on their official corporate website:

STAMFORD, CT, September 16, 2009 –World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. today announced that Linda McMahon has stepped down as Chief Executive Officer after announcing her candidacy for the United States Senate, representing the state of Connecticut. Vince McMahon assumes the duties of Chief Executive Officer in addition to his current position as WWE Chairman. McMahon will be supported by the seasoned executive management team already in place and led by Chief Operating Officer and board member, Donna Goldsmith.

Woah. That's a shocker. I don't blame her though. It has to be a very stressful demanding job and the McMahons are seriously wealthy already.

Being in the Senate is going to be far more stressfull, but it would be a huge win for the Rep. party. If she wins, she will unseat the Senate Majority leader, who is a Dem.

Yes because god knows we need more republicans in Washington. I mean c'mon, we're having a hard enough time trying to pass healthcare for all here. Which the republicans are against by the way. Why? Because it would take 6 months to get an appointment. I'm sorry, but last time I check I'd rather wait 6 months than have to fucking wait forever without healthcare.

What do you mean? The Dems have the majority right now and things went from bad to worse. Demacrats want to spend money on bullshit, pork barrel projects, and socialized medicine

I wouldn't be very surprised if Linda actually makes it to the Senate. She's the one usually representing WWE for their charity work and I'm pretty sure she's established some pretty strong connections with the higher-ups of the US government.

I don't know exactly how well she's perceived for her work with the Connecticut State of Education Board (or whatever it is called) but if she's getting great responses, I think her chances to be elected as Senator of Connecticut are better than you think.

The thing is, the seat she is going after has been held by the same guy for like 20 years and Connecticut is a very liberal state. Hell, the entire northeast is very liberal. They don't have a single Rep rep in the northeast. The good thing is she will have all of the money she will need and she will have enfinte TV ad space on WWE programing.

Ah, didn't know that. I am almost clueless when it comes to US politics so I'll trust your word on this.

But you can bet that the Democrats will definitely use her affiliation with WWE in their campaign against Linda McMahon for sure. This is probably gonna be their biggest argument to tarnish her campaign.

They have already started. They said that she has been selling sex and voilence or some bullshit like that. You can bet the the high and mighty Dems will sling mud like crazy.

Already? Wow, they indeed haven't lost any time.

The election is about 13 months away. Oh yeah, I read something about them using fotage of her getting Tombstoned by Kane. I am not going to post a bunch of that politcal stuff because I don't think it will be interesting to many people and I will be burnt out on this story very quickly. When the election gets closer, I will put some stuff about it, but it was already a top story on yahoo news.
