| I don't think that there is a chance in hell that he will be in Clevland next year. Unless the Cavs win a title, I think LeBron is out of there. If he wanted to continue to play there, he would not have made the deal that he made. He has given the Cavs the chance to build a team around him and they have had some success, but no rings.
The question is, where will he play next year? One of the teams that has been in the rumor mill for like 2 years is the Knicks. They accepted that they were going to suck and dumped any chance they had to win by getting rid of any good player they had. If he leaves for money, then NY could be where he plays, but they are miles away from winning a title.
Where do you all think he will play?

| The thing with the Knicks is that they have cleared so much room that they might be able to afford 2 max-contracts. That means you could see a combination of Amare/James, Wade/James, Bosh/James, etc. LeBron has stated already that he'd like to play on a team with one of his Team USA Olympic teammates, so the above 3 scenarios would work for him. | |

| I heard something about him going to LA, which I was like how is that possible? Unless he takes the mid level exception, which he won't. I think he'll end up on the Heat with D-Wade. They have the money to get them both, add chalmers, beasly and a center and | |

| ^^I believe they could work out a sign and trade involving Bynum, Odom, Farmar, and others which would allow LBJ to make the most money and still allow the Lakers to be able to carry his contract. Not 100% sure how it works though because the NBA's exceptions are confusing as fuck for me. | |

| He's going to go to Orlando, with Vince Carter taking the mid level exception, and Nelson sticking around they can technically afford him.
Could you imagine playing this lineup?
Jameer Nelson Vince Carter Lebron James Rashad Lewis Dwight Howard
I'd go on the books and say that team could break the best record in the NBA streak.

| Do you think he will be the biggest free agent in NBA history. Most of the great players played the bulk of the career with the same team. I know that guys go someplace else in the twlight of their career, but they mostly stay with one team. | |

| ^^Yeah, everybody leaves when they aren't too good. Except Shaq with the Magic. He left in his prime.
How's Orlando getting him? They have less cap space then the Knicks.
And I can see the Lakers trading every player, or retiring them, to clear space for 30 mil each for Kobe and Lebron, a new rule stating a team needs to have a min. of 2 players, and they go 82-0 in 2 on 5 basketball games =)
But seriously, I think the Cavs would much rather take Bynum, Artest/Odom, Farmar? which all equal to around the 20 mil. Lebron makes, than nothing at all. Add Draft Picks as well from the Lakers to the Cavs for the next 10 years. Although it'll be awesome if it happens, chemistry is already shaky enough. Kobe captain for the next couple of years, Phil talks him to taking a smaller role (if he wants more rings) and James taking over Captaincy at the age of 28?

| Well technically I meant by trade.
Orlando if I'm not mistaking has two number one picks this year...if I'm wrong then I'm wrong.
But if they gave up 3 first round picks, and sent them JJ Reddick as well as some other decent guys I think Cleveland would take the bait.
Once he's in Orlando they can resign him, even if it puts them over cap.
Although let it be known I'd much rather us trade Jameer and Carter to the heat for Wade.
Reddick is good enough to start.

| The salary cap in the NBA is no big deal anyway. Mark Cuban goes over every year, so the chance to get James would be a good reason to go over. | |

| I thought that going over the Cap to get a player was only if the team had their Bird Rights? Which is where a player must be on the same team for three years. | |

| I am not as familar with the NBA cap rules, so you could be right. I just know that Mark Cuban doesn't care about the cap. | |

This is why I hate the NBA's cap.

| Next year, the NFL will not have a cap becuase the collective barganing agreement will run out. It could be time for HUGE NFL contracts, but it could be another NFL lockout, but that is another story. | |

| I think it will end right after the 2010-11 season, so they will have one uncapped year and then the possible lockout. I am not sure on the exact date though.
Lockouts/strikes are a retarded disaster. They lose way more money by not having a season then they gain bitchin about broadcast percentages or whatever the hell the owners want more money out of. Jerry Jones has got to find away to pay for a 2 billion dollar stadium, so we'll see how that lockout things goes.

| After the Pro Bowl, which is the week after the Super Bowl. They have plenty of time to get the deal done. They need to avoid the mistake baseball made and start talks now. I heard that they are not even talking about it yet. There is no reason to wait until Feb of 2011, do it now.
The NFL is America's game and any work stappage would set them back 10 years, just like it did baseball.
