Repacked wrestler returns, slight SD spoiler

The WWE superstar formerly known as Festus has been repackaged and is now aligned with C.M. Punk. During Tuesday night's SmackDown taping, Festus joined Punk in the ring and announced himself as Luke Gallos. Gallos acted like a normal guy and blamed his previous mental condition on years of drug abuse. Punk took credit for helping Gallos get off drugs and has taken him under his wing. Gallos is expected to serve as Punk's enforcer.

What's wrong with Festus?

I think that this is a good move because the Festus gimmick could really go nowhere without a handler and even that run it's course. He is a big, powerfull guy and I am interested to see if he has anything special or is he just another big guy.

Yeah but it's not like you actually get to see Festus...

I met Festus once at a signing and he stayed in gimmick the whole time. Jesse did all of the talking and Festus kept that dumb look on his face.

Sweet! I mean, the Festus gimmick ran its course. It WAS entertaining for the first few weeks, lost its flare, got a bit funnier when Miz & Morrison started messing with him, but fell right back down to nothingness. And once he was drafted, he was doomed for sure. The Festus character is long dead and soon, Jesse's will be as well.

I really wish this would've happened months earlier, mainly when Undertaker came back. That would've at least made it seem like Punk stood a chance, but no...they wait until CM Punk is basically demoted in the rankings for him to get a bodyguard type character. I mean, it's a great thing and I'm looking forward to it and I wanna see if "Festus" is a decent talent as well...but this is some time past due. Should be interesting, at least.
