"Anthony Randolph is among the players the Warriors are shopping in trade talks, according to two high-level NBA executives, though team sources say no move is imminent.
Tuesday's news is a drastic change from a month ago. During the Stephen Jackson trade talks, which culminated with a Nov. 16 transaction, potential suitors were told that Randolph was off limits.
A lot has changed since then, and trades for Randolph are being considered. It has become obvious that Monta Ellis can be a leader, and it is equally obvious that he needs a star to play alongside him.
"They may make a big move," one Eastern Conference executive said, "but I'm not sure trading everyone away is the best option."
General manager Larry Riley would not comment on trade possibilities, per team policy.
There are some who believe everyone on the Warriors' roster is up for grabs. It's possible they'll trade big salaries and about $10 million in expiring contracts to find a new sidekick for Ellis, the franchise face.
Chris Bosh's name won't go away. Carlos Boozer, Caron Butler, Tyrus Thomas and David West were all mentioned by league executives as potential candidates Monday.
Still, for the most part, the Warriors are parroting a "stay together," "we're all on the same page" agenda. Though his public comments have been within the company line, Randolph's emotions sing a different tune."
