- This week's WWE SmackDown will feature a "Beat the Clock" challenge to determine the #1 contender to the Undertaker's World Heavyweight championship at the Royal Rumble. Here are the 8 superstars who will be competing in the challenge:
* Matt Hardy vs. CM Punk * Kane vs. Dolph Ziggler * Chris Jericho vs. Rey Mysterio * Batista vs. R-Truth'
As per WWE's rules, whichever Superstar wins their match in the fastest time will challenge the Undertaker for the World Heavyweight title at the Royal Rumble PPV on January 23rd.
I can't imagine anyone beating the clock faster then Batista

| ^Kane is a longshot. Which is sad, as I'd love to see him face Taker. I'm just glad it seems the spoiler system is out. I hated that addition and it's good to see the original beat the clock sprint returning. Albeit, it's not as all out as it was last time. I figure there is a possibility that Rey and Batista will both get the same time. Yet, looking at who each are facing, I'm a little doubtful on that. If I'm giving someone the edge, it's definitely Batista. | |

| I would love to see Kane get a WHC shot against his brother. Kane has been a great performer for over 10 years and he has sometimes been stuck doing job duty. As I have said before, I love to wee Kane and Taker team up and fight. | |

| I could potentially see Rey coming out to screw Batista from getting the best time, especially after Batista came out and screwed Rey during his WHC match... possibly setting up a triple threat scenario. I would love to see the WHC picture change a bit though, and let Rey and Batista finish their feud outside that picture.
On the other side of things... Rey, Batista, and Undertaker in a triple threat means none of them can win the rumble, and if a Smackdown star wins it, it's likely to be a newer guy.

| I'm actually surprised that Rey's still contending for the title, after reading about the impending debut of Low Ki as Kaval to feud with Mysterio. I'm assuming that this has to happen around the Rumble or at least, to build up an undercard match between the two at Wrestlemania. But, at least, it makes things less predictable to have Rey Mysterio still thrown in the mix, even though we pretty much assume that Batista will end up being the #1 contender again. | |

| ^ Low Ki had a severe knee injury which is why he hasn't already debuted and Mysterio was placed into programs with Batista and Ziggler. Oh, and then there was the suspension. Anyways.... I could really see Mysterio and Batista having the same time. They keep hinting at this triple threat encounter and all of them have unfinished business with each other. It wouldn't be right not to deliver on it. Oh, there I go asking for the "right" thing from WWE. Psh. :p Lol, but seriously...I think that's the most logical situation. Why give us Taker vs. Batista again? At least not in a standard match. Triple Threat still sounds better, though. Kane would be interesting, of course. I mean, there are always wildcard choices. Personally, mine would be Jericho. However, Kane vs. Taker could be a fun match. Definitely not a spectacle or anything of the sort, but still not bad to say the least. Kane is just confusing. He turns his alignment almost every month. :/ I always love Beat The Clock challenges, so I might actually watch Smackdown! for this this week. | |

Maybe that is how they will debut Low Ki. Mysterio will be wrestling Batista for the WHC and Low Ki comes to screw Mysterio out of his title shot. The story is that Low Ki will come from his past to keep him from becoming WHC.

| We got to stop giving the same people title shots. What about our midcarders who actually breathe this business (Not saying that Punk, Kane, Jericho or Ziggler don't). But my point here is that I feel Batista and Mysterio are getting to over pushed for the title. We need to give someone else a shot. It's the same on RAW, when do we not see Cena in the title picture. Kofi's obviously ready for it. I love the idea that ECW is doing with this homecoming thing. Anybody can have a shot. It just sickens me that since 04 WWE has had the same people in the titlle picture constantly. It seriously makes me wonder what WWE would be like if Beniot and Eddie never died. | |

| Nah, I don't like the idea of having Low Ki come out to screw Mysterio in a possible shot at the title. He has to screw him in a championship match. Plus, I haven't heard anything about his recovering knee being in well enough shape to wrestle just yet. | |

I have NEVER heard of such a smark post until this one. Here's a few things: 1. The World Title is meant for somebody who has staying power, charisma, and is over with the fans greatly. They have to ignite alot of reaction within the fans, whether that reaction is cheer or heat. Good merchandise sellers, a marketable face/character...you know, the total package. However, by total package, they normally don't take into consider their actual in-ring ability. So guys like Cena, Batista, Taker, Mysterio, HHH, ect. will be in that scene because they garner great reaction and sell lots of merchandise. It only makes sense. 2. WWE is still a business before anything else and they need to make money. To make money, they need to capitalize on their most valuable assets. The midcarders are NOT anywhere close to being their most valuable assets. There's a reason that they are midcarders; either developing or WWE is looking to make some sort of use out of them OR they don't wanna get rid of them because of what the competition would be able to do with them. WWE dropped the ball on Elijah Burke, Daivari, and others and TNA was able to pick them up and make them champions/contenders. 3. There is a huge deficit between Cena and, say, Jamie Noble in terms of star power and drawing power. Look at the following: Main Event WWE Championship Match Triple H (c) vs. Jamie Noble That doesn't look nearly as attractive as this: Main Event WWE Championship Match Triple H (c) vs. John Cena It just makes sense to book the biggest stars higher. WWE gives other wrestlers time to shine...MVP, Punk, Morrison, Sheamus, McIntyre, Benjamin, and lots of others...but they haven't reached the star quality that those already at the elevated status have. Why would WWE listen to a couple of smarks online just to lower their overall income because people don't wanna really see the midcarders getting title shots. It just doesn't make sense.

| Rey Mysterio is one of the most popular wrestlers in all of the WWE. He consistantly sells merch and tickets. I don't love him either, but having in WHC matches is smart. I hope he doesn't win, but having the matches is good for SD and the entire WWE.
I don't think Batista is getting over pushed at all. I think that heel Batista has been refreshing for SD. You can not look at pure wrestling ability for the WHC. Batista is not Bret Hart by any means, but he is great with power moves and he great charisma.
Saying HHH can not wrestle is simply not true. Watch him wrestle guys like Beniot and HBK and you will see how wrong you are. It depends greatly who he is in the ring with and Cena is not a great wrestler, so HHH had to adapt his style to wrestler Cena.
CM Punk gives the Mid-Card credibilty, so I have no problem with that and it doesn't mean he will never be the WHC again.
Morrison is on the verge of being a huge, top selling star, but that time is not now. A few months from now, after he wins the MITB, he might/will be on that level.

Low Ki's returned to FCW recently. I believe he's also the current FCW Champion at the moment.
