According to the Pro Wrestling Torch Newsletter, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon was reportedly furious when he saw a video of Ric Flair making his TNA Wrestling debut on January 4th - the first time that TNA's iMPACT! went head to head with RAW.
The story goes that he was shown a video of him making his debut and then McMahon proceeded with throwing down his headset (McMahon executive produces RAW) and then kicked it. Apparently, even though it was heavily rumored everywhere, McMahon didn't expect him to make his debut with the company and was angry about the whole situation to say the very least.
I geuss this is why John Hedder was wearing Ric Flair's robe. I can see why Vince would be upset, but Flair wanted to come back to WWE, Vince said no, so Flair went someplace else.

| I think Vince would be pissed if Flair went anyplace else. Flair retired, and Vince put a lot of time and money into the retirement angle and 2 years later, Flair goes to another promotion? This does not make them competion because Vince turned down Flair and if he really wanted Flair back it would have happened. He doesn't want Flair, but he doesn't want him to go anyplace else. If TNA gets Shawn Micheals, then I will call them compition. | |

| HBK. They have Flair, Hardy (Soon), Angle and Hogan. How much more do you want. Four of the biggest names in Wrestling right there.
Also, Flair was not refused to work for WWE. Flair was refused in ring work in WWE. He was offered a Manager role and told them to stick it.
Also, Is Vince angry with ROH. He went there? Of course he isn't.

I could careless about TNA getting Hardy, Hogan, Bisch, Nasty Boys, Hall, and SixPac, Orlando Jordan, or whoever else they have. Hardy is the only one of them that WWE is still intrested in. Personally, I could give a damn if I ever see Hardy do anything again. Hell, if Vince decided he wanted Flair back now, Flair would breach contract with TNA and go back. You know that and I know that. If WWE wanted to give Flair the role he wants, he would leave Orlando so fast, Dixie's head would spin off.

Wait, when was this? According to the thread, "Flair explains why he went to TNA", he said WWE just never called him back to work for them after the brief angle with Orton. To quote the full article... - Quote :
- Ric Flair says his main reason for joining TNA and making his debut this past Monday night on iMPACT! was because unlike WWE, he felt wanted by the organization.
In an interview with Mike Mooneyham of the Charleston Post and Courier, he said he didn't want to sit at home watching two wrestling shows on Monday nights when he feels he can still contribute to the industry.
"I think I certainly can add something to the show," Flair said. "And the nice thing is ... they want me.”
Flair says he waited for WWE to call him back after he worked a brief angle with Randy Orton this past June, but they never called him back to do a follow-up.
Flair says he was feeling great following his recent wrestling tour of Australia, both mentally and physically, and felt he shouldn't have to sit on the sidelines when he can strongly contribute to TNA.
Mooneyham noted: "Flair says he loves WWE and always will, but that he needed this opportunity for himself. ... It’s a matter of pride, of belonging, of feeling that old familiar adrenaline rush. Flair says he is excited and energized by the positive vibes coming reverberating throughout the company (TNA)."
I don't see anything about what you're talking about in there.

He would not go back, And he is probably on solid money in TNA anyway. Flair has slammed WWE recently and he would not go back. Trying to say he would go back is so Markish, You know he wouldn't. And Y2J X, I am looking for the article now ... I'll post when I find. I think it was with the Sun newspaper in the UK

| You really think Flair would rather be in the second best wrestling promotion? Who is the one being markish now? Yes, he does not want a backstage role, but he did want an on screen role. If WWE called him and said they wanted him back on TV and in the ring, he would bail on TNA fast.
I don't care what he is saying about WWE now because he has to be all TNA company man now. I read an interview where he stated he waited for WWE to call him, after his little feud with Orton, they did not call, so he went to TNA. I posted that article, so take a look. Flair would rather be in WWE. I know that because he said so.

| Probably like how Flair was in WCW (The 2nd Rate Promotion) and if WWF called he would of come straight back hey ...
Flair is known for being in underdog promotions until they rise to the top. He is doing the same with TNA

| I can't honestly imagine Flair going back to WWE if Vince tries to get him back. In WWE, there is pretty much zero chance that he is going to get the oppurtunity to wrestle, which is something I know Flair really wants to do. Durning talks with TNA, I can see WWE bringing him back and him following but now that he's signed on, I don't think that's how it'll play out. Not to mention, I don't think he'd do that to Sting. It's obvious those two will be wrestling and Sting has gone on record saying he only stayed with TNA because of Flair. | |

Flair is known for being in underdog promotions until they rise to the top. He is doing the same with TNA WCW lost the ratings war, sometimes I think you forget that. WCW was second rate at the end, it was pathetic actually. Flair stayed because of loyalty and respect for what the promotion once was. Flair was the captian going down with the ship. On his DVD, Flair said that WCW going out of business was the best thing that could have happened and that it should happened a full year before Vince bought them out. Watch Flair's first DVD and hear him say that with your own ears.

| As I own both Flair DVD's along with the Horsemen's, I agree 100% with CJ.
I don't wanna say outright that Flair regrets ever going back to WCW but the impression I have from his comments on his DVDs is that he returned because he thought that with the office changes, things would be different but in the end, it just wasn't. And I think it's pretty much the story of Ric Flair's career when you think about it, from when he left WCW in 1991 to his final stint in WWE until he recently showed up in TNA. Flair was told this, instead the promotion wanted to do that. So, basically, Flair was lied to by management and it definitely left a sour taste in his mouth and to some point, self-doubting his abilities. That doesn't change the fact that Flair arguably had the greatest career in this business but I'm wondering how bigger his success would've been if management would've been always honest with him.

| and also, in WCW, on the infamous Monday Night WAR DVD, Jim Cornette stated that Eric Bischoff tried to move Flair out of the picture and Flair stated that Bischoff wanted to break Ric Flair
and Cornette stated that Ric Flair was drawn based on Ric Flair being Ric Flair
