Strikeforce Heavyweight and former WWE superstar, Bobby Lashley will step back inside the cage for Strikeforce when he takes on Chad Griggs at the Strikeforce: Houston event on August 21 at the Toyota Center.
Sources close to the fight told the news to MMAMania today.
Lashley is undefeated in his MMA career with wins over the likes of Bob Sapp and Jason Guida. He defeated former UFC Heavyweight, Wes Sims at the Strikeforce: Miami event by TKO in the first round.
I have no idea who Chad Grigs is.

He's another opponent who isn't even a top 100 heavyweight in the world because Lashley needs to keep beating up some no-names to improve his record >.< *EDIT* Ok, just looked him up on wiki, he's a nobody who has only fought once in the last 3 years.

| Well then, this fight will pump up Lashley's record and get him closer to a title shot. I read something that said he wanted a title shot by the end of the year. Either way, I don't think that will happen. | |

| Until he even faces a top 100 HW in the world there's no way he deserves a title shot. At least Lesnar beat up Herring (top 15 or so at the time? top 20 at the least) before getting Couture for the belt. Since the Strikeforce roster is much weaker, maybe Shane Del Rosario and/or Andrei Arlovski to actually build his resume. | |
