- Shawn Michaels
was named the number one Superstar in World Wrestling Entertainment's forthcoming DVD set counting down the top 50 Superstars of all time, WWE: Top 50 Superstars of All Time.
The DVD's complete 1 to 50 ranking is as follows:
1. Shawn Michaels 2. The Undertaker 3. Steve Austin 4. Bret Hart 5. The Rock 6. Harley Race 7. Ricky Steamboat 8. Andre the Giant 9. Rey Mysterio 10. "Rowdy" Roddy Piper 11. Eddie Guerrero 12. Triple H 13. Gorgeous George 14. "Macho Man" Randy Savage 15. "Mr. Perfect" Curt Hennig 16. John Cena 17. Dusty Rhodes and Ric Flair (tied) 19. Edge 20. Jerry "The King" Lawler 21. Lou Thesz 22. Terry Funk 23. Hulk Hogan 24. Bruno Sammartino 25. Chris Jericho 26. Ted DiBiase 27. Fabulous Moolah 28. Classy Freddie Blassie 29. Randy Orton 30. Pat Patterson 31. The Iron Sheik 32. Jimmy Snuka 33. Mick Foley 34. Kurt Angle 35. Buddy Rogers 36. Gorilla Monsoon 37. Junkyard Dog 38. "Superstar" Billy Graham 39. Jake "The Snake" Roberts 40. Big Show 41. Jack Brisco 42. Sgt. Slaughter 43. Kane 44. Nick Bockwinkel 45. Jeff Hardy 46. Dory Funk Jr. 47. Bob Backlund 48. Rick Rude 49. Batista 50. Killer Kowalski
I can't argue with the top 3 at all. I would put HHH higher then 12, at least of Rey. I would go HBK, Taker, Austin, Bret Hart, The Rock, HHH

| OMG, How childish is WWE at times. Hogan 23 ... The guy made Pro Wrestling what it is today. What a joke. Just cause he is running TNA does not mean he should be below the top 3#
Why the hell is Flair so low down the list. he should be sharing #1 spot with Hogan. No discussion needed.
Also, As great as Michael's is I personally think Hogan, Flair, Austin and Taker should be ahead of him. Michael's is overrated in my view. 4 World title reigns and he is considered number 1? ... Don't think so.
Then we have the absence of Trish Stratus yet manage to have Batista in the list. I'm sorry, Was I the only one who knew she won 7x World Titles and built the women's division to what it is today.
Lastly, Angle should be breaking top 20 status

| HBK had only 4 World Titles because he missed over 4 years and he was not concerned about titles anyway. HBK was about putting on the best matches and telling the best stories. The fact that HBK was at the very top of the wrestling industry for the last 8 years of his career, without being in the major title picture, makes his career even more amazing. Do you think that HBK would have not gotten a WWE Championship run if he asked for it? Of course he would and I am more then certian that he was offered it on more then one occasion. HBK is not overrated, he is rated right where he belongs.
I agree that Hulk is an obvious top 3 guy, but I think that the rift between Hogan and the WWE goes way deeper then the fact that Hogan is currently fucking up TNA.
I would personally put Angle in the top 20, but I am not totally pissed that he is not there. To me, the most worst number on this list is Flair. 17, are you fuckin kidding me? Flair should be above all of those 80's NWA/WCW Icon's (Steamboat, Rhodes, Race, ect..) Flair is the gold standard of the wrestling business, but WWE is pissed that he "retired" at Mania, got a huge send off, and then showed up with TNA. No one ever retires, but I can see why they would not be too high on Naich right now and personally, I don't blame them for being pissed at him, but that does not change what his career meant to wrestling. Just because Hogan and Flair are trying to murder, no, rape and leave the legacy on the side of the road, in Orlando, doesn't mean that their previous career's should be buried.
My Top 10 would look like this: 1. HBK 2. Taker 3. Austin 4. Bret Hart 5. The Rock 6. HHH 7. Hogan 8. Flair 9. Macho Man 10. Jericho Thats right, I said Jericho, deal with it.
I would also put Kane in my personal top 20, too. What he lacks in title runs, he makes up for in deep character development and great matches, with many different superstars. I am not sure exactly where, but Kane is in my top 20

| HBK is the "Showstopper", The Main Event and whatever else you want to call him. He is definitely in the Top 10 of WWE's Greatest but for him to be 1, 2 or 3 is a joke.
Hogan Flair Austin
That is THE top 3 of WWE. They made WWE what it is. You had Hogan who attracted young and family audiences which created the WWF. You had Flair who become a household name for his in ring wrestling and entertainment value in front of the TV and you had Austin. The same who single handedly created the Attitude Era which was the greatest 4 years of professional wrestling.
HBK is legendary. World titles or not he is one of the best. But he does not deserve that #1 spot and the people who think he does overrate the man.

| I am personally responsible for overrating HBK? I did not know I had that kind of power. Austin is my all time favorite, so you will not get any argument from me, on Austin's impact on the WWE. Most of Flair's titles and best work, came while he was in NWA/WCW. That is why I don't put him as high up on the WWE Top 50. Hogan revolutionized wrestling in the 80's and Austin took it to another level, in the late 90's. I would have no problem with calling them 1 and 2. Austin still holds records for merch sales and PPV Buys. Austin was on fire, in his prime. I saw him at a Raw, in July 99 and the crowd went fuckin crazy when the glass broke, including me. | |

| This list is full of faults. I don't have much of problem with Flair at seventeen, since this list should probably just pertain to their time in WWE, so not a problem for me. Little irritated he isn't over Rhodes. Hulk Hogan should be higher, no doubt about it. The fact that Rey Mysterio is number nine, is really confusing. I don't know how that could name him over Triple H, Jericho, Cena, Edge, Flair, Hogan, Sammartino (an eight year WWE championship reign), and many others. Also, maybe it's just because he's best known now as a commentator, but it really bugs me that Lawler breaks the top twenty. | |

| Rey's place on this list is dumb, but I am an UnRey mark, so I am extremely bias on that subject. I don't know why Lawler is that high on the list. His In Ring, WWE wrestling career is not that special. I am not sure he should even crack the top 50. I know that he has been a staple in wrestling, for over 30 years, but his WWE, in ring career, does not rank.
As flawed as the list is, I can't wait for the DVD. Each and every name on the list will get a profile on the DVD and it won't matter exactly where they fall in the top 50. I really want to know what matches will be on the DVD. I have seen 9 matches so far, but I know there will be at least 9 more, it is a 3 Disc set.

| of course it is flawed lol, its the wwe.. and its top Superstars not Wrestlers, so in a sense some of the places are correct, but some are totally laughable, Cena ahead of Hogan, Bockwinkel, Funk Jr, and even Batista made the list.

I hate Jeff Hardy as much as anyone here, but I am OK with him being that far down the list. This list is WWE Superstars and wrestlers like Terry Funk had their major success outside of the WWE.
