| "WWE released Dave Lagana earlier today, who was a writer for the ECW brand. He joined ECW when Paul Heyman left in December 2006. Before joining ECW, he had a run as the head writer of SmackDown. Lagana was with the company for six years." http://www.lordsofpain.net/news/2008/articles/1201317688.phpDo you guys think this change will be good for the brand?

| I just hope that Heyman will be his replacement. They could really use him right about now... | |

| According to an interview with Charlie Haas back in 2004, Dave Lagana was a lousy guy backstage. He didn't use anyone's ideas but his own. So it doesn't seem like that much of a loss if what Charlie said was true. | |

yeah i read that fallen angel in a mag here called power slam anyway. He was wwes top writer in 2003.then they had a fight vince and him and steph told vince not to fire him this is true im reading it right now in the august 06 issue of powerslam titled HHH reurns at homecoming. Anyway steph told him not to fire him so he moved him to smackdown so it kinda looks like he has been screwing him around a bit

| He was good on Smackdown, but may well have been an arse backstage. ECW doesn't have many storylines - it is too short. If Heyman did return (which I'm sure most ECW fans from pre-2006 want) He would let the wrestlers make their own storylines upo as it should be. | |

That doesn't work. Everyone would be trying to get themselve over at the expense of others. Eric Bischoff let Hogan and his buddies make their own storylines and look what happened? WCW died. Wrestlers should be able to come up with ideas but the creative team should make the final decision. Otherwise the inmates run the asylum and that doesn't equal a good product.

That's one thing I like about the talent exchange though... It enables Smackdown and ECW story lines to be pushed twice a week, which could add a lot. I just wish the superstars of Raw had the same opportunity. As for the writers... The past 6 years have pretty much all been going downhill, so I can't say I was terribly fond of this guy. I think story writing needs to be a joint effort between the writers and the superstars. The superstars know what they can do best, to be honest. I'm not talking about letting the superstars book matches. I'm just talking about letting them suggest a few different angles they think they'd do well in, and giving the writers the ultimate say to either maybe take one, fuse them, or make their own based on the suggestions they receive. There's no sense throwing superstars straight into angles that they'll die in.

| Here is an update on this story, which has everything you never even wanted to know about the situation: http://www.wrestlezone.com/article.php?articleid=203934278Apparently he is suspected of leaking major storyline plans over the past 2 years. "Later that afternoon, all the writers got laptop upgrades (everyone has a WWE-purchased laptop and Internet phone). Apparently, the laptops have shadowing software. The belief among some people in WWE is that Stephanie had been feeding him false info on very specific information to see if it would get out on to the Internet, and it eventually did. After she had finally caught him, he was fired." Just thought this might be interesting to some people | |

You should do because it directly effects the quality of the wrestling product you see on TV.
