From being out of the playoffs before the all-star place to first place, the Rockets have won 22 straight games to lead the strong Western conference. Parts of the streak coming after Yao Ming was determined to be out for the rest of the season. Following close behind are 6 teams less than 2.5 games away from taking their #1 spot. They now have the second longest winning streak in NBA history only behind the 33 game win streak by the 71-72 Lakers.

So are they for real as a #1 team? Can they break the record for longest winning streak? Will T-Mac now be a front-runner for MVP?

No they aren't the number 1 team. The only good team they beat was a Laker team without Gasol. You can't have a better MVP then Lebron, he has a points average in the 30s assist average is around 8 and a rebound average is like 9 the best number since some jobber basketball player, I think his name was Michael something? In other words, I'm more impressed with the way the Magic have played under a new coach. I honestly believe they are just one piece away from being the next Boston Celtics.

The Lakers will win the Western conference.
