Japanese baseball team scores 66 runs in 2 innings

A Japanese high school team surrendered 66 runs in 1 1/3 innings before the coach pleaded for the game to be ended. The only pitcher had already thrown over 250 pitches in the game. He gave up 26 runs in the first inning and 40 runs in 1/3 innings. Their opponents were credited with a 9-0 victory to give at least some respect to the Kawamoto school.



Talk about embaressment, yeesh. Back when I played we had mercy rules so we couldn't score more than 7 runs in 1 inning. Obviously, not the case in Japan.

I don't know, i'm gonna call bullcrap on that one.



Something just doesn't add up.



250 pitches? He wouldn't have an arm.

That seem's like some bullshit but does not mean its not true.

Actually, a lot of pitchers (or at least used to) be able to throw a lot of pitches. I believe Dice-K or some other Japanese pitcher threw something like over 180 or even over 200 pitches in a game. This is just some kid who probably doesn't even throw that hard, so I wouldn't count out that many pitches, especially near the end when he gets tired and probably why he got hit hard.
