NBC Cancels Hulk Hogan's American Gladiators

Entertainment news site HollywoodReporter.com is reporting that NBC has cancelled Hulk Hogan's show "American Gladiators" after just 2 seasons. The show did big ratings for season 1 but viewership tanked for the second season. Unlike most reality-style shows, American Gladiators was very expensive to produce.

and BTW, next year, will mark 20 years since the series debut on syndication in the fall of 1989

and plus, Hulk Hogan is hosting Hulk Hogan's CCW on CMT

and as for co-host Laila Ali, the Pro Boxer recently gave birth to her son Curtis Muhammad Conway Jr. on August 26, 2008

The NEW AG was taped @ Sony Pictures Studios the same studio where JEOPARDY! is currently taped and all of the American Gladiators Episodes from the NBC and 1st Run Syndicated Version are all owned by MGM Television

ESPN Classic continues to air all of the syndicated versions of AG, but I wonder will ESPN Classic be next to pick up the rights to NBC's AG or will MTV continue to air it on reruns like it did earlier this year.

I would've thought that after season 1, the sets and stuff would all be set up already be done and the production costs would fall dramatically because they can just re-use it. Man, Gina Carano has the worst luck ever...

WOW ... I mean NBC is really tight ass recently. Firstly they got rid of Las Vegas which was just fucking stupid. Now they got rid of gladiators (Meh!). Whats next ... Heroes

Well from what I heard, they're moving Jay Leno to Primetime as soon as he leaves The Tonight Show Next Year and Conan O'Brien will take his place which includes cancelling Late Night.

NBC has been going down the toilet as of late and it's not only Primetime, but also Daytime Television.

2 Stars from Days of Our Lives got fired and The Today Show going 4 Hours is an overkill.

and I think that NBC might become the Law & Order Network unless they get their act together.
