Pornography vs Prostitution, why is one illegal?

Prostitution is having sex for money, and that's illegal obviously. But what sets pornography different from prostitution outside of maybe a camera filming it? Not that I'm complaining that porn is legal (assuming you are of legal age...), but just wondering what makes one legal and the other not.

I think its because both parties are getting paid to get laid instead of just one party. If you think about it though porn stars are a lot different then prostitutes. Normally the prostitutes that do it for money live in Nevada because they make good money. I know the ones in East Nashville just want some crack, maybe some speed...but never any money.

Although, the porn industry invovles sex, their isn't much risked invovle. I remembering reading (on this site actually) that pornstars get checked first to make sure that they don't have any Sexual diseases. Religion is no longer in run of the government (well not for USA) so the marriage thing doesn't really bother the government anymore. So, besides the actually sex that happens within the Porn, the worse thing that really comes out from it is masturbation on the part of the buyer(s). Not to mention it seems here (America) the mass population craves sexual stuff. Two and a Half Men does excellent in ratings and the majority of the material is sexual based jokes, although thats not all thier is but, it does have it more than other comedies I've seen. Some other already popular shows seemed to add in more sexual stuff as time moved on such as the Simpsons (which doesn't really do it but, I've seen a little of it which is more than it would be if it was the same show for a year ago) and Family Guy (which even changed one of their characters into a homosexual and used him for a lot of sexual puns). Their are also a lot of bands that do sexual songs on their or having something to do with it and honestly, the majority of the male population already has their mind set on sex.

Knowing the male mind craving for sex, the Porn industry is always their to keep them from expressing their sexual needs out on their girlfriends (in some cases it might be helpful for both or vise versa) because it gives them a visual and makes it easier (without imagination) for them to take their sexual urges on themself and masturbait. Doing this reduces the chance that sex will occur (In some cases it could possibly encourage it) which reduces other things such as, pregrancy to women still in school, abortion, population (for places to crowded), etc.

Now, my knowledge is not perfect with prostertution so I wouldn't know how the pregancy thing goes but, it doesn't matter whether it happens or not because either way it does not destroy my point on the Porn Industry. Prositution however does not check before hand to say see if your girl has any Sexual diseases because just like other products it's main line purpose is to make money, which means they don't care for the cilent. At the end of the day it's all about the money to them and can leave you with a horrible sexual disease, which you payed for. So, really unless you suck big time with women and are really desperate to lose your virginity I see no plus side to this.

Alright! Somebody actually learned something from a post of mine

prostitutes do not work around a contract, they just get payed by sad cunts for some shit derogatory sexual acts.

porn stars work for companies who have licensing to film sex and sell it on the open market. all involved want to be there, its just extravagent acting that just happens to involve sex.

sex isnt illegal. but selling your body is.

they are not selling their body as such, they are acting with another equal, and having some well planned sex lol, just happens there is a camera man there.

they are not payed to have sex, they are payed to make somthing look visually pleasing lol i duno.

either way prostitutes sell it on the streets to scummy men and are themselves scummy
