The Santino Marella Appreciation Thread

He may not be the best in the ring, but damnit this guy is awesome nonetheless. In here, we shall appreciate the greatness that is Santino.

This may be an appreciation but I couldn't help myself...

So overrated by the net community. Plenty of people could play that Italian stereotype with the cheap comedy. He really isn't that talented. He's a bit of fun to watch and Raw is better for him but he's definitely over hyped.

Santino was in OVW doing a Russian gimmick as well, Matty. He's a good in-ring talent, but since he's obviously better on the mic than in the ring, WWE won't acknowledge his abilities. Somebody who can play both a Russian character and an Italian character so well must be a good talent!

And basically every time that Santino grabs a mic is my favorite thing. He's the comedy relief that Raw has been needing, alongside Charlie "The Impersonator" Haas.

I can do impressions of a Russian and an Italian... it isn't really that hard to play a stereotype and I bet WWE writes his material. All he has to do is deliver the lines; really not that hard. I've seen him on OVW, he was solid in the ring. But while he's entertaining in WWE, he ain't worth all the praise people give him in my opinion. I don't see his cheap comedy as anything more than fun whereas the net community seem to think he's some kind of genius.

My favorite Santino moment was when he was defeated by Regal in about a minute and lost the IC Championship. I'm not a fan of Santino so other than that I liked they way he debuted. If I had to go by funny moments, it probably be one on Santinos Casa were he insulted people from new York and Beth Phenoix come on and told him she was from New York. The spilt was funny at first but, in general a lot of moments from Santino are just lame, like the rap and the honk a meter but, thats just my opinion.

Good post. Sums up my feelings pretty much apart from I do think he can be fun in small doses.

Seriously Santino is Raw's biggest success at comedy in a long time. Unless they get someone like The Rock who can make the crowd laugh while still cutting an epic promo that is main event material stuff, then a person like Santino is good. Santino is great and everytime he's on the screen I'm usually laughing. Great man, great thread.

Santino is God.

Everything he says and does is golden, I can't pick out one single thing he's done that didn't make me laugh. I'd say my fave was the segment he did with Mysterio, not to mention pretty much everything he says on Santino's casa.

"I got your delicious sandwich!" was pretty awesome for me. Next up I'd probably put him trying to do the Melanie's hot to trot entrance.

I liked when he tried to do Melinas entrance and when he said "I'm going to open a can of whoop ass"

I am a amused fan of Santino and it has given a thing to look forward to on RAW, of course second to what RKO is going to do next.

Best Moment: When Regal won the Intercontinental Battle Royal. I shall quote Santino.

" HE CAME BACKIE!!!"

The way he said it was hilarious.
