Crosby puts Pen past Washington

WASHINGTON (AP) -A lot less talk, a lot more action.

Unlike their last meeting, Sidney Crosby avoided any face-to-face confrontations with fellow MVP Alex Ovechkin on Sunday, instead producing a goal and assist in regulation, then the shootout winner to help Pittsburgh edge Washington 4-3 - the Penguins' sixth consecutive victory and the Capitals' fourth consecutive loss.

After Crosby lifted his shot over goalie Jose Theodore's glove side for the only score of the shootout, Ovechkin's attempt to extend the game was thwarted by Marc-Andre Fleury's kick save. Fleury earlier stopped shots by Alexander Semin and Viktor Kozlov.

The result allowed surging Pittsburgh to complete the first 5-0 road trip in franchise history.

Caps are probably at a point where they're pretty much locked into where they will be. Maybe move up 1 slot at most past the Devils, but otherwise they don't figure to move very far up or down.

It's probally good Crosby avoid O-Vec, if he didn't he might pull a groin again trying to skate away...

Why can't you accept that the Pens might have won because of Crosby's hard work? If Caps win, it's because of Oveckin but if Pens won, Crosby has nothing to do with it... Even if he scored the winning goal.

Crosby's not even the best player on his team...why would I consider him the reason the Pens won?

They're is no I in team.

But it's never about Crosby with you STL. When the Pens won, it's because of Malkin. When Crosby brings his team to victory, "there is no I team." When is Crosby actually doing something right?

I'm not saying the Pens won because of Malkin...I'm saying Malkin is better then Crosby. Period.

Hockey is a team game and there is not a one man that could win a game. Someone had to assist Crosby. Someone had to block goals for Crosby. Its not Crosby who won the game, its the team.

And Ovechkin and Malkin are better then Crosby. Period. They're not selfish players and they get there own goals.
