Blackhawks' Eager suspended for three games

– Chicago Blackhawks forward Ben Eager has been suspended for three games, without pay, for a blow to the head of an unsuspecting player during NHL Game #1068 against the Edmonton Oilers on March 20, the National Hockey League announced today.
Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, Eager is considered a repeat offender. Based on his annual salary, he will forfeit $21,951.21. The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
The incident occurred at 7:30 of the third period and involved Oilers forward Liam Reddox. No penalty was assessed.
Eager will miss tomorrow afternoon’s game against Los Angeles; Mar. 25 against San Jose and Mar. 27 against New Jersey. He will be eligible to return Sunday, Mar. 29, against the Vancouver Canucks.
