| So I was at my mothers house today when she was watching the view, and the guest on it was none other then Lil Wayne (who acts a lot different then he sounds). During the interview he brought up going back to college, having two kids, becoming the boss of Cash Money records, and possibly one of the most shocking developments, the fact that he is switching from rap music to rock music. He stated the entire album "The Rebirth" is going to be an entire rock album.
Little known fact that only two rappers to my knowledge have switched genres like this. Ice T and Vanilla Ice. It appears Cash Money is going to try and open the doors for all kinds of music in the future with this move.

| I thought Kid Rock did it too. Unless you don't count him for some reason.
Lil Wayne doing all rock music probably won't last long. I don't think it will anyway. I heard that one rock song he did and it was horrible.

| You could kind of count Kid Rock, but he's always had a fusion mix of songs. He does rap, rock, and even country on his CDs. Its really weird, I guess you could add him but it would be really hard considering he's done so many albums in all three genres. | |

| I'm just interested to hear how it turns out. I think his music is already kind of unusual. | |

| I love Lil Wayne's music, if you actually listen to the lyrics, they're amazing. But as far as him doing other genres.. I'm not sure how great they'd be. | |

| ^ We should chat on MSN, I'm a big Lil' Wayne fan too.
As for the switch to rock music for 'Rebirth', it sounds pretty meh. I've heard two songs off the new album and I don't really like it at all, his voice doesn't suit the style of music as well. But yeah, the lyrics are still good, as always.

| I have most of Lil'Wayne's songs. He is a great artist but I am not sure how rock would go in his case. | |
