Hey guys, this Sunday Night it's the WWE Night of Champions III
For 34 years, the U.S. Heavyweight Championship has been around many promotions
It is also the only title to be defended in the NWA/Jim Crockett Promotions, WCW and of course the WWE
and now, this Sunday Night, it will be defended once again, this time in a Six Pack Challenge Match
Here are the participants:
Kofi Knigston-The Current U.S. Heavyweight Champion
Last year @ Night of Champions, Kofi was drafted to RAW and as a result, he challenged Chris Jericho and won the WWE I-C Heavyweight Championship for the very 1st time and this Sunday, he looks to make it 2 for 2 @ Night of Champions
The Miz-A Former WWE & SD! Tag Team Champion
Jack Swagger-A Former ECW World Heavyweight Champion
and 3 former U.S. Heavyweight Champions will be in the match as well:
Big Show-A Former U.S. Heavyweight Champion who won the title in 2003 @ SD!'s No Mercy when he def. the late Eddie Guerrero, but @ Wrestlemania XX, he lost the title to John Cena after holding the title for 21 weeks
Carlito-another former U.S. Heavyweight Champion, on SD! just days after No Mercy 2004, Carlito made his WWE debut on SD! back on October 7, 2004 and in his very 1st match on SD!, he shocked the world when he won his very 1st U.S. Heavyweight Championship when he def. John Cena (who won the belt @ No Mercy 2004 from Booker T.) in Cena's Hometown of Boston, MA, but 6 weeks later on SD! after the 2004 Survivor Series, Carlito would lose the gold back to Cena
MVP-a former 2x U.S. Heavyweight Champion who won the title back @ Judgment Day 2004 when he def. the late Chris Benoit and he would win the title again on SD! against Shelton Benjamin back in the Spring of this year 2009
and 2 years ago @ Night of Champions, he def. a man who has held the belt 6 times which is more reigns than anyone else:
Ric Flair who won the U.S. Title 5 times in the NWA and once in WCW and MVP prevented Flair from not only becoming a 7x U.S. Heavyweight Champion, but he also prevented him from being the only man to hold the U.S. Strap in the NWA, WCW and the WWE
and now, this Sunday, it's the 6-Pack Challenge Match
Who will win the U.S. Heavyweight Championship @ Night of Champions III?
Will Kofi Kingston hold on to the Gold or will we have a NEW U.S. Champion?
Will The Miz win it for the very 1st time?
Will Jack Swageer win it for the very 1st time?
Will Big Show win it for the 2nd time?
Will Carlito win it for the 2nd time?
or will MVP regain the title for the 3rd time?
That's the Question!
