UFC President, Dana White has confirmed that Cain Velasquez will be the next man to challenge for the UFC Heavyweight championship, and will face the winner of the upcoming Brock Lesnar vs. Shane Carwin UFC 116 main event.
Speaking via MMAJunkie.com, Dana said:
“Cain fights the winner of this fight, probably as soon as possible. Cain’s been waiting a long time.”
Velasquez has put on impressive performances since coming into the UFC, defeating the likes of Cheick Kongo, Ben Rothwell and former UFC champion, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira to earn his title shot for the Heavyweight championship.
I wonder what "as soon as possible means"? Does that mean 3 or 4 months from now? | |

| Well "as soon as possible" would depend on the outcome of the Lesnar/Carwin fight and what medical suspensions might come from it. | |
