Survivor Series Idea

Now if the WWE ever decided to do away with the brand extension, what do you are think about my new idea for drafts in the new WWE? How about around Survivor Series time, WWE host a series of drafts for the Survivor Series matches, where the team captains picks and teammates, and draft picks are random. Meaning Cena could end up having a rival on his team like HHH or Umaga for example.

They could host two draft lotteries per match each week. However they could always space it out to one a week if they need time to fill until Survivor Series. Drafts could even continue until the last SmackDown! before the pay per view.That is of course if WWE decided to go back to their old ways of booking more Survivor Series matches at the Survivor Series pay per view. They could even have a drawing to decide who will be in the Elimination Chamber, if they decided to bring it back for Survivor Series, also. What do you all think about this idea?

It just doesn't work that way. They whip up their storylines to have Survivor Series pit rivals against each other. Also, the brand extension is going *nowhere* due to the sheer amount of talent the WWE has. As far as the draft is concerned, those only happen when the creative teams have specific plans for a wrestler on a different show. They're not just going to randomly assign people to different shows, although I feel like they could do a better job making us believe that it is random. Switching champions was too predictable when Cena and Batista swapped shows. Also, having a "computer" make the draft picks is just insulting to our intelligence as fans. It was at least nice to see a physical ball-drawing selection process, to at least make us think the draft could be random (even though we know it isn't).

Well we all realize that when we say "Random" we mean scripted. They put rivals against each other, that is why you need to have rivals on both sides. But still have history with each other. For example, HHH is drafted on one team and has history with Umaga who was just drafted over to Cena's team. Cena still has history with Umaga. Script the randomness and this could work just as well as the other draft lotteries did.

The brand extension worked when it was first introduced, but now thanks to more talent leaving to either retire, join the Indies circuit, or even TNA. WWE just doesn't have the talent left to fuel the brands anymore which is why they continue to use talent from both ECW and SmackDown to fill out RAW's card and expressly the ECW/SmackDown deal.
