William Regal now a 2x I-C Heavyweight Champion

Well folks, 16 years ago, The British Bulldog won the WWE I-C Heavyweight Championship in his hometown of the UK in front of 80,000 fans @ Summerslam '92 when he def. Bret "The Hitman" Hart.

and now, 16 years later, another hometown favorite from the UK wins the I-C Gold

William Regal

That's right, William Regal def. Santino Marella to win the WWE I-C Heavyweight Championship for a 2nd time.

His 1st I-C Title in 6 years since losing the belt @ Wrestlemania X8 in Toronto.

William Regal won the I-C Title in 2002 @ the 16th Annual Royal Rumble when he def. Edge, but then, 8 weeks later, he would lose the I-C Belt to Rob Van Dam, but then later that year, Regal would win back the European Heavyweight Championship just days later from DDP and again from Spike Dudley.

and now, what's next for William Regal and what's next for Santino Marella?

They need to give the I-C title to someone who deserves it. A good midcarder.
