| We reported awhile back that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson had been asked by WWE to guest host this coming Monday's edition of Raw, however Johnson turned down the offer.
The Wrestling Observer is now reporting that Johnson turned down WWE's offer to host the show because he will be in Mexico this Sunday and Monday promoting his upcoming movie "Tooth Fairy" which comes out the following week.
It should be noted that 20th Century Fox, the film's distributor, is billing Johnson as Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson for the first time in quite awhile. Johsnon had dropped "The Rock" name several films ago and said he would not go back to being referred to as "The Rock," however there's apparently a line in "Tooth Fairy" that says "get ready to get rocked." So, the studio thought it would be a fun play on words to have Johnson use "The Rock" name as his billing in the movie to help generate hype. It's very doubtful that Johnson will go back to using "The Rock" in his name for future films, as this appears to be specific to "Tooth Fairy." | |

| Could be worse, you know. He could've gone from WWF Icon to Santa with Muscles. | |

| I think this will happen, it is just a matter of timing for the Rock. He has that movie coming out, so he will have to do a ton of press. I think they will get him as their big last Raw guest host. | |

| He probably should've chosen the gues host position if he had a choice. I don't think going down to Mexico for whatever event he's doing is going to bring in as many viewers as Raw would. | |

| I agree baba, but he has to do the promotional crap that Disney wants him to do. Why do you think he did Hanana Montana? Because it was part of his Disney deal, as is his promotional apperances. | |

| Random thought...if Disney just acquired Marvel and The Rock is signed with Disney...could we see The Rock in Marvel movies now? I *think* I would actually go watch them if he were in something notable. | |

| I think The Tooth Fairy is the last movie of Rocks Disney deal and that now he wants to do other things. That doesn't mean that he couldn't do another Disney movie though. Isn't The Black Panther a Marvel property? I have been hearing rumors of that movie for years now. Maybe Rock could be that guy, he is black you know. | |

| Dwayne has become an entity outside the business who no longer needs VKM...that's a short list! | |

| He doesn't need Vince anymore, but I feel that he owes it to the fans. WWE fans are the only reason Hollywood even knew about The Rock. Without the WWE, he would been just another guy trying to get into acting. I think that he should do Raw whenever he can fit it in and give the fans what they want because they helped give him so much. | |

| Personally, I feel The Rock has already payed the fans back. It's not like he hasn't made appearances before. Mostly, though I think coming back and teaming with Foley against Evolution in a match is good enough for me. While I do think he should host Raw, and am pissed when he can't even tape something for a XV (15) year anniversary of Raw, I feel he has giving back. I think a lot of wrestling fans need to lower their expectations for what they consider him paying us back what he owes. That's just me though. | |

| That was so long ago and Rock still makes money off the the WWE fans. I personally bought his DVD and he makes money off of that. I want to see him on Raw and the place would explode when The Rock came to the ring. I think he owes it to the WWE fans and more then that, I want to see it happen. | |

| ^I definitely want to see it too. I still don't think The Rock owes us anything anymore. Sure that and his other appearances (bar Smackdowns tenth anniversary) were a long while back but I think it's ridiculous to think he has to keep coming back and making appearances. He's payed us back already and moved on. At this point, anything we got from The Rock is extra from what he owes us, in my opinion. | |

| I don't think he has to be on 3 times a year, but a live appearence every 6 years? C'mon man. I would not be surprised to see him get into the HOF this year, if he will appear on Raw, HOF Ceremony, and at WM. Maybe he doesn't owe it to us as much as I want to see it, but it was so awesome seeing The Rock on SD last year, I want more. I want to see hin live on Raw and I want him to do his "finally The Rock" thing. I am selfish and damn it, I want it for me | |
