| The Wrestling Observer is reporting that WWE might not not be renewing many of the legend's contracts which are set to expire this year. The legend's deals are mostly in place for marketing reasons, and allow WWE the exclusive right to sell certain legend's merchandise. In some cases, the legend's deals prevent wrestlers from working with rival wrestling promotions. | |

| ^^ I guess this means there will not be anymore Legends video games, but that does not bother me. I could careless if TNA gets another over the hill wrestler in there. That would be just another nail in the coffin of TNA and Bisch/Hogan are the coffin makers. | |

| That is true, As this could also be a very smart tactic by WWE. Do you think they are releasing some guys (Not Austin or Rock, Guys like Duggan) to hand them over to TNA. Just to make them more WCW - Like. I think so, Very smart by WWE | |

| ^^ WWE will not be letting of huge names like Austin and the Rock and they know that Duggan, Piper, or whoever else they have, will not be able to hurt them in the ratings. It is a good possiblity that WWE is baiting TNA into signing a bunch more old guys and the more old guys they sign, the less young, talented guys they can keep. WWE would never say so, but I bet their are certian TNA talents they would love to have a shot at. | |

| I really don't think they're doing this to try and entice TNA to sign them. If it happens, I think it'll just be an unintentional by-product of the release. I just think that the WWE doesn't ened these "legends" under contract anymore because they really don't place a huge role in their programming. To sign a guy and pay him for say a year to make 4 backstage appearances in promos is not a good way to spend money. They'd be better off paying them by the appearance. | |

| The orginal idea behind these contracts was for action figure and video games. A couple of years ago, they made a WrestleMania Legends video game and a line of Legend action figures. Since they already have the toy line out, there is no need to keep paying Papa Shango or Mr. Fuji to do nothing for them. | |

| Could we simply consider this move as some sort of cost-cutting measures? Given the fact that they're also releasing many developmental or unused talents around this time of year, I guess that it's only standard procedure for WWE.... | |
