| Update:
Judas Mesias may be on his way out of TNA. The word going around backstage at Tuesday's Impact tapings was that Mesias has worked his last match with the company for a while. Both sides are open to working together in the future, but several people backstage are under the impression that they don't have any future plans for him.
After joining TNA last fall, Mesias is still working without a contract. Mesias is one of a few talents working under a pay-per-appearance deal with TNA. The reason for this is that some non-contracted wrestlers enjoy the freedom of working non-TNA shows, and they wouldn't be able to work certain shows if they signed with TNA. In Mesias' case, he's affiliated with the AAA promotion in Mexico, which is a major promotion there. If he signed a contract with TNA, he probably wouldn't be allowed to work there anymore.
Mesias makes approximately $300 more per match in TNA than in AAA, so that figures to around $500 per shot. However he can wrestle up to five nights a week in Mexico, and earn nearly $100,000 per year there, which is presumably more than TNA is willing to pay him.

Why in the hell would you wanna wrestle 5 nights a week? You would just tear up your body. Ok basic econ lesson... 500 per match which adds up to about 2500-3000 per month without working house shows. In other words he wrestles a match on Impact and then wrestles one PPV per month. That adds up to 30,000 a year. Granted it is 70,000 less then in mexico but if you wrestle 5 matches a week it tears up your body compared to just one match a week. You could only wrestle 50-55 matches a year and make 30,000 or you could wrestle 250-275 matches a year and make 100,000 if you choose option number two and you will only wrestle about 5 years. However if you pick option number one you can wrestle for about 20 years. Now do the math on that. 5 years=500,000 20 years=600,000 you will make 100,000 more in your lifetime and have a better chance of not blowing it all at once. wasn't that fun kids?

| There's no way i'd wrestle without a contract.
If I disagreed with them on something... i'd still walk out. Sue me.

| Okay, if you look at the wrestlers working without a contract, you see that really them leaving TNA would be no big loss. Messias wants to work dates in Mexico aswell as TNA (where he cannot win titles) so let him go for it. Its pretty cool for them that they can leave if they don't like the way they're being displayed on TV. If he, or any of the others on that list, walk out then what's it really going to do? Its not like they are big stars like AJ Styles or Kurt Angle. Apart from Messias, I'd like to see them walk out. It would give talented younger guys like Sonjay Dutt more air time. | |
