Entertainment industry publication Variety is reporting that TNA Wrestling is set to announce on Monday that it's flagship TNA iMPACT! show is moving to Monday nights starting March 8th.
According to Variety.com, iMPACT! will air head-to-head with WWE RAW for 2 hours, from 9-11 p.m. (Eastern time) and will be live every other week.
"We've always wanted to go on Monday nights," said TNA president Dixie Carter. "That's where the wrestling viewing audience is accustomed to being."
Eric Bischoff calls iMPACT! moving to Monday nights "a little bit of history repeating itself. Bischoff said, "This is a great opportunity for TNA to step up and get noticed and showcase their product. I've said since the moment I started talking to Dixie, in my opinion we should go head-to-head with 'Monday Night Raw.' To me, it's a battlefield -- and to win the battle, you have to be on the battlefield."
When asked to comment on WWE's new competition on Monday nights, WWE spokesman Robert Zimmerman said, "We're not too concerned. We're in good shape."
I've been trying to tell cetian people around here that WWE is not worried about what TNA is doing and here is conformation. "We're not too concerned." "We're in good shape." That pretty much confirms what I have been trying to tell a someone around here.

Why, Because he said that statement?
Bill Clinton said that he did not have sexual relations with that woman, But did he?
Just because somebody states something, Does not mean it is true. Same goes for both ends.
WWE are concerned, They are not concerned to a degree of Monday Night Wars but once TNA builds up a bigger fan base it will get to that point. WWE are concerned, As they would be with ROH, NJPW etc. There wrestlers are leaving for promotions like these, People are viewing these shows instead of there's (Some anyway), Certain staff members are jumping ship and ROH & TNA consider themselves the alternative.
You cannot argue this, WWE are concerned, to an extent. Saying they are not is obnoxious, Markish and ignorant.
TNA are concerned about PWG and ROH. Do I care? ... No. Does it bother me admitting that? ... No.

If WWE wasn't concerned about TNA, they would let WWE fans carry signs about TNA to their live events.

Don't think it matters if WWE is concerned or not. It's beside the point. The point being that it's too early for TNA to be doing this and that they are essentially going to get anally raped from a ratings standpoint. Hell, I could be wrong and I'll be the first to admit it if I am. Hope I am wrong because there are too many talented guys in TNA for that to just be wasted. But the product itself is second rate. And moving to Monday nights, with the largest wrestling company in the world, is going to expose those flaws more. They got higher than usual ratings on the night they did go head-to-head. But you can't exactly debut Hulk Hogan every week. Numbers will start to drop and I think it'll just be a matter of time until TNA goes under. Could be years from now after a good run on Mondays really but it'll happen sooner or later. Either way, good luck to TNA cause there are alot of guys there who deserve to do well.
And I do agree with Sykesy in a way. I don't know if I would use the word concerned but WWE obviously does pay attention to TNA, they know they are there, they just don't acknowledge it. Don't see why you would want to talk about and give any potential exposure to a rival company. I don't know if WWE are concerned with TNA but they are on the radar obviously.

Umm, I don't think that has nothing to really do with them being concerned, I think that has more to do that WWE doesn't want promote something that doesn't benefit themselves. Let's say they weren't concerned. If they start allowing people to show signs or keep advertisments in their shows for TNA, then that will lead more people to watching TNA and give them a reason to be concerned, it's smarter business, not concern.
Anyways, I do think WWE is concerned about TNA but to a small extent. I think WWE believes that if TNA does became a success that they are able to take them down and remain dominant as they have for the past decade in the wrestling world. I think WWE will be checking TNAs ratings on Monday, compare Raws ratings to before TNA moved to now that they have, and take it from there. I assume if nothing really changes within they next year or so, TNA would probably almost completely drop from WWE's radar.

How many WM 24 DVD's were sold? Why would they allow any product to have totally free promotion on the grandest stage of them all. That would not make any business sense at all. WWE Raw is the highest rated wrestling program of the week. Why would they allow completely free promotion of another wrestling product? That would also be very bad business.
I will go as far as to say WWE is awar of what is going on in TNA, but that does not mean they are concerned. IF Impact's ratings start to creep up and Raw's ratings start to fall, they will have reason for concern. The last time they went head to head, WWE still got higher then usual ratings. WWE has absolutely no reason to be concerned at this point.

“TNA iMPACT!” ON SPIKE TV MOVES TO MONDAY NIGHTS IN 4 WEEKS
Total Nonstop Action Wrestling’s Flagship Series Will Air Live Every Other Week From Universal Studios In Orlando, Fl.
New York, NY, February 16, 2010 – “TNA iMPACT!,” Spike TV’s highly-rated two-hour weekly series, is moving from Thursday nights to Monday nights beginning Monday, March 8 (9:00-11:00pm ET/PT), it was announced today by TNA President Dixie Carter and legendary pop culture icon Hulk Hogan at a press conference at the “TNA iMPACT! Zone” at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida.
“TNA iMPACT!” will air live on March 8, with subsequent telecasts live every other week. The series features many of the biggest names in wrestling including Hogan, Ric Flair, Mick Foley and Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle, as well as the hottest young talent in the industry: TNA World Heavyweight Champion “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles, “The Samoan Submission Machine” Samoa Joe and “The Blueprint” Matt Morgan.
The first ever Monday live “TNA iMPACT” broadcast on Spike TV, ran as a three-hour special head-to-head against WWE RAW on Monday, January 4, 2010, and drew a franchise-record 2.2 million viewers. Two wrestling companies have not broadcast head-to-head weekly since the “Monday Night Wars” in the late 1990’s between WWE and WCW.
“On January 4 wrestling fans showed us they’re ready for a new professional wrestling alternative on Monday nights, and we’re answering that call. Bringing ‘iMPACT!’ to Mondays is our most exciting move yet in a year that’s already been filled with huge milestones for TNA” said Carter.
"Monday nights are now officially the best night of the week to be a fan of professional wrestling," Hogan said. "My mantra has been 'change is coming' since partnering with Dixie Carter and TNA Wrestling. This change is great for the business and all fans of professional wrestling will benefit because of it."
"TNA iMPACT! has emerged as one of cable's top performers with young men, said Spike TV President Kevin Kay. "With NFL Football off the television schedule and with "TNA iMPACT’s" expanding roster of top wrestling talent, we see this as an opportunity to tap into the millions of wrestling fans on Monday nights."
Since its founding in 2002, Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling has become the world’s fastest growing professional wrestling company, currently airing in over 120 countries worldwide.

Well like it or not, I am READY for it
I watched WCW Monday Nitro during the Monday Night WARS and I'm ready to do the same thing with TNA.
It's about that time.

This move will cause them to lose at least one viewer. I usaully watch Impact on Thursday, but TNA has brought nothing worth "crossing the line" for. I will continue to watch Raw every week and I might turn on Impact during the commercials.

Do whatever you will CJ, but hey, don't gate me b/c I LOVE TNA just like I LOVED WCW and still do.
But hey, the problem was that when it was on Thursdays, the ratings were not that good, and so, when Hogan came in, it broke the slump b/c let's face it:
AJ Styles, Daniels and Samoa Joe couldn't draw ratings or a crowd
If you went to the streets and you ask a certain WWE Fan who AJ styles is, they'll tell you, they don't know who he is
and so, when they aired on Mondays, even if it didn't beat RAW in the ratings, the numbers were still good and that's called Mainstream
Sometimes, you have to do whatever is necessary
TNA can't please you all the time, just like WWE can't please everyone all the time and the same can be said about ROH and the NWA
hey, we all have our likes and dislikes, but like I said:
You do whatever means necessary
and on Thursdays, people be watching the NBA on TNT just to hear Charles Barkley give his take about Basketball
But like I said:
Don't hate me b/c I'm a TNA Fan, just like, I'm not a WWE Fan, but I like certain people on there

Uh, TNALDF. pretty much everyone knows TNA who watches Wrestling. It is like a person who become a fan in 05 but still know what WCW is. TNA is Big, Yes it is probably an eighth of the size of WWE but it is big. Every fan knows of it and the roster.
Now you say AJ, Daniels and Joe cannot draw a crowd ... Well lets have a look for a minute.
Lockdown 2008 was the most sold TNA DVD of 2008. The Main event consisted of Joe Vs Angle. This PPV OUT SOLD Bound For Glory. How can you now say that Joe does not draw a crowd.
Then we have AJ Styles. You are trying to tell us AJ Styles does not draw a crowd?
Jan 14 ... We all know the main event. We also know that it was the highest rating part of the show. AJ was in that match. AJ is also the current champ who Eric and Hogan have HUGE expectations for.
People watch TNA for 3 people. AJ Styles, Kurt Angle and Sting. Without these three men TNA would have been dead a LONG time ago. AJ, Joe and Daniels (To a lesser extent) draw crowds.

TNAguy, you can love WCW if you want, but WCW crashed and burned in the end and TNA will do the exact samething, if they keep running like WCW.
Joe, Styles, and Daniels draw my attention much more then the Band and 5 Bischoff backstage segments, followed by the Nasty Boys with Jimmy Hart.

No one draw my attention than the WCW Guys in TNA as well as Jeff Hardy, Christian Cage and Kurt Angle
Joe and Daniels are great athletes, but to be fair, they didn't draw my attention when I 1st heard about TNA years ago, but AJ Styles did b/c he's from WCW and I saw TNA Year 1 on DVD and the fans were so happy to see guys from WCW, ECW and the WWE, the ones that LOVE Wrestling and not just the money.
But hey, you have your likes and dislikes and I do, too
But the real blame for WCW is Time Warner for selling WCW to the WWE and if WCW was still around TBS and TNT, we wouldn't be stuck watching crappy sitcoms on TBS and overrated dramas on TNT, but the only thing that I like on TNT in the NBA and that's it.
