More On SD! To MyNetworkTV; Back To Thursday Nights?

There is a very good chance that WWE SmackDown could end up back on Thursday night when it moves to MyNetworkTV in September. A number of media outlets that have reported on the move have noted that the reason that MyNetworkTV did not call it Friday Night SmackDown in their press release is because it could be moved to another night.

UPN (before it merged with the WB to become the CW Network) moved SmackDown to Friday nights back in September 2005 as WWE did not have a say in the decision. It will be interesting to see if the show moves nights because I was told that was one of WWE's top priorities in negotiating a new deal for the show.

In terms of popularity in the United States, Thursday nights are the most watched nights on television while Friday nights are one of the least watched nights on television. Nonetheless SmackDown's move to Friday nights did not have a significant impact on the ratings.

that makes sense i mean people are usually out on fridays and it is hard to catch it. so i think they should go back to there roots and back to thursdays because usually people dont go out on thursdays ps they are resting for friday partying

Many wrestling rumor sites have reported the Smackdown will being the Fall 08 season on MyNetworkTV a tv channel that recently replaced UPN when it merged with WB. This company is owned by Fox, who use to run Impact on Fox Sports Net. Also it was announced it will be aired on Thursday competing with Impact.

If it does move back a night I will start to watch it again.

Well I hope TNA is ready, because SmackDown is coming for them. I hope Vince knows what he is doing, because right now he has hardly anyone for main event matches at Wrestlemania. TNA has been doing really well in the ratings and could upset WWE SmackDown by any means necessary.

TNA has not been doing well in the ratings. TNA has been doing well for TNA, and Spike. Even ECW gets better ratings than TNA.

There's no competition here. SD, if on Thursday's, will force Spike to move TNA to another night.

Don't see that happening till they switch to the other network.....I wouldn't think Vince would even bother to try and down shadow TNA....What happened to the ratings before ...When WCW merged and there was not competition so people just did other things....Lately TNA has been okay Christian Kevin Nash ....Hopefully Samoa Joe will get back on TNA soon as it is and Sting is back....

True but that doesn't schedule my TV time ...I like what I like...Just like Tuesday night I rarely watch ECW unless CM Punk is going to be on the air because I watch other things on Tuesday night...... Even then its not always on but thats what VCR is for...

What or how much I would do would have to determine what the time schedule it would be...Deal it when the time comes....Thursday belongs to Christian, Sting, Rhino and some others so if the time change crossed might be some Smackdown taping as well....
