WWE's creative team was told to come up with ideas to incorporate Stone Cold Steve Austin into WrestleMania XXIV. Two ideas that were discussed were a match with Hulk Hogan znd Austin being the spcial guest referee for the Big Show vs. Floyd Mayweather match. It is unknown whether either idea was actually pitched to Austin, but he wont be doing either. He is expected to attend the Hall of Fame Ceremony, so there is still a chance he could appear at WrestleMania.

I'm kind of tired of seeing Steve Austin used as a cheap pop every now and again. He's just used to make things a littlemore interesting but for me, it does the reverse. I know exactly what's going to happen every time Austin is named as a special ref. It's boring. Include Austin if you're going to do something decent with him rather than just have him stun people after the match and leave.

Yeah everytime someone tries to knock The Rock for not coming back for often you just have to look at Austin and how cheap his appearances are. When The Rock eventually comes back for a match it will be special because of the amount of time since the last one.

Im tired of seeing austin at mnaia also mainly cause he never has a match. He is always a special guest ref which is just to get PPV buys and ratings. They should put him in a match against un uprising talent so he can push the superstar.

I kinda like Austin as a ref but he does the same thing over and over can they atleast have it happen once every year or 2. Let me play out a Austin special ref match. THE MATCH GOES ON AND WHEN THEY START TO BREAK THE RULES HE ARGUES OR GETS THEM OF HIM SELF. THEN THE HEEL HITS HIM WITH THERE FINISHER AND AT THE END HE COMES BACK TO HELP THE FACE AND THE FACE WINS. THEN WHILE THEY ARE DRINKING BEERS TOGETHER HE STUNS THEM AND LEAVES. Ya its that predictable.

An Austin/Hogan match would sell a ton of PPV's but I don't think Ausin would go for that. Doesn't Hogan have creative control over his matches? I don't think he would let Austin win. There isn't any time for it now anyway.

Steve Austin is too broken down to have a match. And if he ever did it wouldn't be to job to Hulk Hogan. Both men are getting older and older and the match is getting more unlikely. Both of them are too egotistical to let the other get the win and at their age, the match would be a shambles.

Actually Matt I seriously doubt the validity in some of Austin's claims.

I really think this 'injury' thing with him has been an overexaggeration. In some interviews, he claims to be so hurt he can only return for 'one final match'.

How convienent.

Then in other interviews when he starts tooting his own horn, he makes comments such as 'I could come back for 2 years, full time. I know that. No problem, if I wanted to'.

So I think Austin is 'in-shape', and ready to go. I think he's sitting on his creative control, and doing just like he did in 2002. Vetoing everything SO MUCH that the WWE can only use him in rare situations, and even then it's a gimmick.

As a personal Austin fan, I can say that I myself am getting tired of his hotshotted appearences. I love Austin, I love the Stone Cold Stunner, but regardless, his gimmicky appearences have ran their course.

They were funny at RAW's Homecoming on USA a few years ago, when he came out and stunned the entire McMahon family. Classic Austin. Then followed that with returning to RAW the following week to feud with Steph (and go a classic Austin tirade against Steph to her face), that it was old Steve back in action. Who spoiled it? Steve. He refused to job to Coach. Understandable. But something could've been worked out. I would've loved to have seen Austin vs. Coach, Goldust & Vader in a 3-on-1 Handicap for J.R.'s job at whatever PPV that was, and it could've been awesome. But Austin hated the idea, and passed. So it became Batista.

And now with all the trash Hogan has talked about him, there's no way I could see Austin EVER signing off on a loss to Hogan, under any circumstances.

Steve is too inconsistent in his statements. I think he's 150%, he just refuses to return to the ring, unless it's the absolute perfect match. Which at this point the only way that'd happen is - Hogan/Austin.

It's also sad for me to say, i'm sick of gimmicky stuff like stunning JBL everytime he shows up, or MVP, or Vince, etc.

Either get back in the ring Steve, or stay home. God I love 'ya, but your starting to become stale.

Hey nothing wrong with Steve Austin/Williams.....I have met the guy away from the ring and found him to be a nice guy, he can look into your eyes when he is talking to you....

Now when Austin can control a crowd in the palm of his hand when he is in the ring and that even leaves ole HBK jealous of Steve....Thats why as Steve said in his interview when his popularity soared and HBK started acting like a prick...HBK new someone else was sharing the spotlight and he couldn't handle it....

Same thing with the Rock....HBk said how did he know Rock would make it to the top like he did..when he was treating him like a jerk....Ahh lets see Rock was 3rd generations and HBk Jealous Ego got the best of him and now those guys want no part of him

Steve Austin is cool in the ring and Steve Williams is just as cool when he is out of character and away from the arena as well....When will you guys learn this is a free country and when these guys are done with there carrears and chose to go elswhere thats there right as well an should be respected...Steve broke his neck ( and do mean literally) let the guy do what he wants to do...
