Nas rose to fame after the death of Biggie as New York searched for its new Rap king. Nas and Jay Z went into battle , both sides claiming victories. Since then however they have settled their beef. Nas is known for his story-telling rhymes but can he compete against the pioneers in hip hop , RUN DMC. Rev Run , DMC and Jam Master Jay made Hip Hop what it is today , but who is better ?

It's sometimes so hard to try and compare classics with more new school because the new school people haven't had the time to really become timeless. But I think I'll go with Nas. He really doesn't back down from his views and isn't afraid to come out with "controversial" tracks.

Easily Nas. I've never liked Run DMC. Tracks like "Got Urself A...", "Hero" and "Build & Destroy" are awesome, nothing DMC have got tops them.

DMC IMO are pretty poor so id easily say nas, Illmatic was a great debut album.
