Breaking News: WWE Suspends 10 Wrestlers

Based on information received from investigators in the Albany, NY district attorneys office, World Wrestling Entertainment decided to finally take some action. WWE officially suspended 10 wrestlers earlier today.

Names have yet to be released, but it should be quite obvious over the next week or so when you notice that certain individuals are missing from television and house shows when they were at events this past week.

Apparently, the suspensions are based on proof of wrestlers using an internet prescription type firm for their drugs. Getting drugs over the internet is prohibited by the WWE Wellness policy. You need to have a doctor's notice to be able to get away with using drugs. That explains why Chris Benoit passed so many tests even though he was using an exorbitant amount of steroids while the WWE Wellness policy was in place.

WWE officials informed all wrestlers that beginning on November 1, 2007, WWE will publicly release the names of anyone who is suspended under drug policy violations. In the months/years prior, WWE wouldn't publicly announce the names of suspended performers. You'd have to go on internet wrestling websites to find out about wrestlers being suspended.

Are they really going serious with this?, what are they going to do when wrestlers like Batista or other main eventers who obiosly take stereiods get suspended. I mean its good that they're trying to eliminate the steriods problem, but are they really serious or is it a front to keep the goverment away?

- The WWE was rocked again today, after several of wrestling's top names emerged in the Albany district attorney's probe into a widespread Internet doping scandal.

The wrestling congomerate based in Stamford announced that it will suspend 10 of its biggest stars for violation of its wellness policy.

Top wrestlers Randy Orton, Charles Haas, Jr., Adam "Edge" Copeland, Robert "Booker T" Huffman, Shane Helms, Mike Bucci, Anthony Carelli, John "Johnny Nitro" Hennigan, Darren "William Regal" Matthews, Ken "Mr. Kennedy" Anderson and Chavo Guerrero were all identified as clients of Signature Pharmacy in Orlando, the site raided by Albany County and Florida law enforcement agencies in February for distributing steroids and other prescription drugs to clients who had not been examined by doctors. The investigation is part of a probe into illegal Internet drug distribution by Albany D.A. David Soares.

So, Mr. Kennedy says he no longer uses steroids anymore huh?

No but they cant do that. Randy, Edge and a couple of others are extremely talented and if they were to be taken away, well i say WWE goes down.

Wow I wonder how they will work around the suspentions in the storylines.

I doubt they will go through with Edge and randy and the other good wrestlers being suspended.

The could suspend Edge during the time he is injured because it will not matter either way.

It never offcially says "all superstars took steriods", they also list prescription drugs.

From what I have heard, the ten wrestlers suspended are mostly on that list though:

According to RajaWWF.com, quoting PWI, the ten wrestlers who are probably the ones suspended are:

Charlie Haas
Chavo Guerrero
Edge
Funaki
Gregory Helms
John Morrison
Mr. Kennedy
Randy Orton
Umaga
William Regal

So Funaki (who would have thought...) and Umaga are the unexpected ones instead of Booker and Santino...

I also read that there may be two more suspensions besides those ten, and the list of candidates include Batista, Chris Masters, and then Booker, Santino, and Simon Dean off the previous list.

Actually, I don't think we will. I think the Nov 1st date means anyone who fails a drug test AFTER that date will have their identity exposed. So these wrestlers will still remain anonymous.

Which brings up a good point: How are these wrestlers going to be anonymous when they are removed from tv?

The answer is something someone brought up in another forum, and which I should have thought about before that and didnt.


TECHNICALLY, the Wellness Policy rules, I believe, call for a suspended wrestler to be suspended from house shows, they will not recieve pay, and they will have to pay for their own way and hotel accomadations to tv tapings, BUT THEY DO NOT HAVE TO BE REMOVED FROM TV.

Not necessarily. If what I said above is true, the WWE storylines may continue uninterrupted and people would have to figure out who was suspended for sure by watching who is never booked at house shows.
