Why TNA changed Christopher Daniels' name

TNA changing Christopher Daniels ring name to "Daniels" was simply a marketing decision. He owns the Christopher Daniels name and TNA prefers owning their performers' ring names, hence the change. While the announcers and everyone else is supposed to refer to him as "Daniels," in certain situations such as last week's episode of Impact, people who are his close friends are scripted to call him "Chris."

Daniels? That sounds stupid. This is seriously one of the lamest decisions TNA have made in a while. I can understand why they want the rights to wrestlers' ring-names but that doesn't mean they should refer to them by their last name only if the wrestler doesn't want to give it up. C'mon, Daniels by itself. That's new depths of ignorance.

That's a stupid move from TNA but how many times have we seen the WWE change their wrestler's name just to retain the right to the name?

I don't really see how it matters. Everyone knows his name is Christopher Daniels the only thing that will sound a little weird is when the ring announcer says it. But otherwise it's just like people are calling him by his last name.

It is really funny, I still refer to him as Christopher Daniels or Chris Dan for short. Anyway, I keep forgetting who is Suicide. Is it Kaz or that other guy?

It's Kaz.

The "other guy" used to be Christopher Daniels while Kaz was injured.

Yes it is, He was originally meant to play the role of suicide which is why he was 'Fired'. But due to injury he cannot play the role until like 6 months later. Since then Daniels and Kaz have shared the role.
