- UFC Fight Night 19 fighters salaries: Nate Quarry tops event's $476,000 payroll
MMAjunkie.com Staff, MMAjunkie.com 37 minutes ago Buzz up! 0 PrintNate Quarry, who defeated Tim Credeur in a tough-fought bout that was the first televised fight of the Sept. 16 UFC Fight Night 19 event, earned an event-high $60,000 payday for the effort.
Main-event winner Nate Diaz earned $48,000 and opponent Melvin Guillard earned $14,000 at the event, which took place at the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City.
The total disclosed payroll for the Spike TV-televised event was $476,000.
MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) recently requested the disclosed paydays and medical suspensions from the Oklahoma State Athletic Commission, which regulated the recent event.
Each winning fighter, including Quarry and Diaz, doubled his base pay with the UFC's customary win bonuses. For example, Quarry, a former cast member on "The Ultimate Fighter 1" who made his ninth career UFC appearance, earned $30,000 "to show" and an additional $30,000 as a pre-determined win bonus.
The full payouts for the event included:
Nate Diaz: $48,000 (includes $24,000 win bonus) def. Melvin Guillard: $14,000
Gray Maynard: $24,000 ($12,000 win bonus) def. Roger Huerta: $21,000
Carlos Condit: $48,000 ($24,000 win bonus) def. Jake Ellenberger: $10,000
Nate Quarry: $60,000 ($30,000 win bonus) def. Tim Credeur: $10,000
Brian Stann: $22,000 ($11,000 win bonus) def. Steve Cantwell: $10,000
Mike Pyle: $30,000 ($15,000 win bonus) def. Chris Wilson: $17,000
C.B. Dollaway: $28,000 ($14,000 win bonus) def. Jay Silva: $6,000
Phillipe Nover: $20,000* vs. Sam Stout: $24,000*
Jeremy Stephens: $24,000 ($12,000 win bonus) def. Justin Buchholz: $8,000
Mike Pierce: $12,000 ($6,000 win bonus) def. Brock Larson: $26,000
Ryan Jensen: $8,000 ($4,000 win bonus) def. Steve Steinbeiss: $6,000
* Fight didn't take place because of pre-fight seizure suffered by Nover; fighter still paid
Now, the usual disclaimer: The figures do not include deductions for items such as insurance, licenses and taxes. Additionally, the figures do not include money paid by sponsors, which can oftentimes be a substantial portion of a fighter's income. They also do not include any other "locker room" or special bonuses the UFC oftentimes pays.
For example, as discussed above, the figures above do not include the UFC's traditional "fight night" bonuses. The UFC awarded $30,000 each to Quarry and Credeur (Fight of the Night), Stephens (KO of the Night) and Diaz (Submission of the Night).
In other words, the above salary figures are simply base salaries reported to the commission and do not reflect entire compensation packages for the event.

| None of those purses surprise me at all really. I guess the only surprise was Nover/Stout still getting paid (especially Nover). I wonder if this takes a fight off their contract. | |
