Quote :
Live from Bridgeport, CT Michael Cole and Jerry 'The King' Lawler bring us into Monday Night RAW by reminding us of the heinus attack from the NXT guys last night at Fatal Four Way, where subsequently Sheamus became the new WWE Champion. With that Mr Vincent Kennedy McMahon makes an entrance. McMahon gets a somewhat hostile response from the audience. McMahon speaks and tells us that everything that has been happening on Monday Night RAW of late has been all at the fault of Bret Hart. Vince then says the words 'you're fired' toward Bret Hart. The crowd boo and McMahon swiftly moves on to say that there is a new General Manager for RAW, but he prefers to remain anonymous. With that Vince tells us that the new GM will communicate with us via e-mail - through Michael Cole who has a laptop by him at the commentary table. The crowd are indifferent as they still feel hard done by after the firing of Bret Hart. We hear an IM bleep and Michael Cole respectfully interupts Mr McMahon to tell the WWE Universe that the new GM has hired the NXT rookies and they will address the WWE Universe later tonight.

As McMahon goes to leave we hear the music of Sheamus and the carrot-top superstar brings out the WWE Title. He gets in the ring and tells us that he cannot accept the WWE Title after the way it was won last night. He goes to hand Vince the Title, but then laughs it off and says that it matters not how it was won, because he's good enough to win under any circumstances and by any means neccesary! John Cena's music hits and he comes down to the ring. He plays to the fans and says that he will deal with his stuff with the NXT guys in due time. But as former Champion, he has a little thing called a rematch clause. Sheamus says that's not gonna happen and we get an IM. Michael Cole stands and tells us that Sheamus will indeed defend the WWE Title against John Cena tonight, but to ensure that there is not interference, the referee for tonight's main event will be Mr Mcmahon!

Evan Bourne vs. Chris Jericho

Bourne gets an excellent reception from the crowd as the commentary team tell of Evan Bourne's biggest career win last night at Fatal Four Way. Jericho comes out with mic in hand and he says that he will leave the WWE forever if he fails to win here tonight. The bell rings and Evan Bourne has the better of the early exchange get two near fall covers on Jericho and making the WWE Slammy award winner retreat out of the ring.

As we return from commercials we go split screen and we're shown how Evan went Air Bourne on Jericho to the outside with a splash, but Jericho turned the tides afterward by sending Bourne into the stairs. After an exchange Chris Jericho again befalls Evan Bourne to the outside and the ref counts to Eight before Bourne manages to get back into the ring. As the match continues in Bourne's favour Cole and King ask the question; why would Chris Jericho put all that pressure on himself to win this match? Bourne gets a number of near falls on Jericho before Jericho gets Bourne into a backbreaker and a near fall. Jericho tries to slow down the pace, but Bourne does well to speed it up and then hit a Frankensteiner on Jericho who at this point was on the middle turnbuckle. Another exchange and Jericho then rolls through a set of Bourne knees and puts on the Walls Of Jericho! Bourne struggles and eventually gets to the ropes. Bourne then has a moment on top and gets Jericho down to pull of the Air Bourne - but he does so onto Jericho's knees! Jericho then gets up to hit the CodeBreaker! One, Two, Three!

Winner: Chris Jericho!

After the match Jericho helps up Evan Bourne, only to shove him to the mat again.

We are reminded that the NXT guys have all been hired by our anonymous new General Manager.

We are also reminded of tonight's main event: Sheamus defending the WWE Title vs. John Cena and Mr McMahon is the Special Guest Referee!

After the break we get a recap of the first segment of the show.

Backstage we see Mr McMahon and he is in his office and on his cell phone and evidently he's talking to the new GM. He tells the GM that the main event for tonight is great one, but as much as he likes surprises for the show, he doesn't like surprises for himself. He tells the GM not to surprise him like that again.

In another backstage segment we see Ted DiBiase fire Virgil (officially) only to replace him with... Maryse!

Josh Mathews then interviews The Hart Dynasty who say that it is a travesty that their uncle Bret Hart has been fired. Natalya though is set for her debut match and she says that "these Harts, they won't stop beating."

We see a limo enter the parking lot of the arena...

Natalya w/ The Hart Dynasty vs. Tamina w/ The Uso's

The divas fight it out with Tamina on top early, but Natalya gets back into it with an excellent clothesline. The match continues for a moment - but then out come the NXT guys!

Wade Barrett gets on the mic and says that they're out there to appologise, but then Tyson Kidd flys over the top rope onto two of the NXT guys! A brawl ensues and the NXT guys end up on top as the Uso's leave the scene.

No Contest.

After the break David Otunga is on the mic and he says that on behalf on all of them he appologises for their actions. He says that they actually all Love WWE. They Love it so much that they were doing anything to get those contracts. Now that they have the contracts, they're sorry and they want to get on with being WWE superstars. Heath Slater, Justin Gabriel, Darren Young and Skip Sheffield all take turns to apologise to Bret Hart, The Hart Dynasty, John Cena and the WWE Universe. Michael Tarver says that they did what anyone would have done in their situation. Wade Barrett then reveals that the NXT guys had planned this a long time ago and they all agreed that by the end of NXT Season 1, they would all have WWE contracts. Barrett goes on to say that the NXT guys have formed a Nexus. He also tells us that as well as they all getting contracts, Wade Barrett has also got back his WWE pay-per-view Title shot. He then says that no matter how Sheamus spins it, he's only Champion because of the NXT guys and it's only a matter of time before Wade Barrett becomes WWE Champion.

We have a reminder of tonight's main event followed by a DVD advertisment for The UnderTaker's Deadliest Matches - own it now! ;-)

John Morrison w/ Eli Cottonwood vs...

Well it's supposed to be Ted DiBiase, but as he tells us (with Maryse on his arm) - he has better things to do.

Instead John Morrison's opponent is Zack Ryder. (with Titus O'Neil).

Zack Ryder spends much of the early exchange on top and gets a near fall as he Woo, Woo, Woo's toward the crowd. He keeps Morrison grounded with a sleeper, but Morrson gets back into it by standing and then levelling Ryder with a standing side volley. Morrison and Ryder exchange blows until Morrison reverses a Rough-Ryder and gets Ryder down by the turnbuckle and John Morrison hits the Star-Ship Pain!

Winner: John Morrison!

Backstage Josh Mathews catches up with John Cena and asks him about his views on the NXT apology. Cena says that the NXT guys say that the whole attack was "nothing personal", but after jeapordising his career, RAW, the WWE and the WWE Universe - they've made it personal. Appology Not accepted. Tonight though, main focus is on getting back the WWE Championship. With that, Vince Mcmahon comes into shot wearring a referee's jersey. He seemingly threatens Cena saying that without any doubts, tonight the best man will win.

The July edition of WWE magazine has 'The Viper' Randy Orton on the cover!

The Great Khali and Eve vs. Alicia Fox and Primo

Primo starts against Khali, but tags out immediately as he wants nothing to do with Khali. Alicia Fox comes in, as does Eve and the two divas lock it up. Eve takes Fox down in a headlock. Fox tries getting back into it, but Eve wrestle's well and stays on top for the early exchange. However it's Alicia Fox that gets the first near fall. Alicia Fox then diva-handles Eve, but Eve gets some momentum and has Fox down and she then hits a moonsault on the new Diva's Champion. Primo breaks the count and there's another exchange before Primo legally tags in. He offers Eve a kiss who responds by slapping him. Alicia Fox meanwhile walks away from the match and exits up the ramp. Khali then comes in to perform the Punjabi Plunge on Primo to pick up the win.

Winner's: The Great Khali and Eve.

Randy Orton makes his way to the ring. He gets on the mic and says that seen as NXT have contracts it's only a matter of time before he punts each and every one of them in the skull! Orton then says that he accepts Wade Barrett's apology and he hopes that he wins the WWE Championship so that Orton himself can be the one that takes it from him! We then hear the music of The Miz and Miz comes out saying he's tired of 'The Viper' being involved in Title shots. He says that he's going to be the first person to hold the United States and WWE Championships at the same time. Miz then attacks Orton, but Orton eventually turns it around and Miz falls to ringside. Just as Orton turns around *BAM* Spear from the Rated R SuperStar! Edge threatens Orton before leaving.

Vincent Kennedy McMahon makes his entrance for the upcoming main event.

John Cena vs. Sheamus

Special Referee WWE Championship match

For some unexplained reson, Mr McMahon is not actually the referee in the ring. Sheamus begins the match on top as the fans are very much in Cena's corner. Sheamus floors Cena and gets a couple of early near falls. We then hear the audience vary with their chants. Some chanting 'Lets Go Cena' against others who are saying 'Cena Sucks!' Sheamus is on top as we cut to commercials.

As we come back we see both competitor's quite hurt as Michael Cole tells us that Mr McMahon is the Special Guest Referee at ringside for this main event for the WWE Championship. Cena gets on top for a moment, but Sheamus gets him down and gets another near fall. Sheamus seems very much in control again as Jerry Lawler says that Cena he thinks Cena hasn't been the same since the first initial attack from the NXT seven. Sheamus goes at Cena, but Cena hits him with a reverse head butt. Cena looks like he's turning the match around but then he and Sheamus collide in the middle of the ring as both superstars go for clotheslines. They get up at the count of Eight and Cena goes for the Attitude Adjustment. Sheamus gets out of it, floors Cena and gets a near fall. After some time John Cena is back up and he gets himself going with trademark shoulder blocks from off the ropes and then Cena hits the Five Knuckle Shuffle! Cena picks Sheamus up for the Attitude Adjustment, but again Sheamus gets out of it and manages to hit the Irish Curse backbreaker as the match again turns tides. The two of them go at it and Sheamus has control has he has Cena at ringside and he whips him into the steel stairs. Sheamus rolls Cena back into the ring and then gets another Two count on the pin attempt. Sheamus is frustrated now as he finds it a struggle to put Cena away. Sheamus then goes ringside, sets up the stairs along the walkway and brings Cena out of the ring to send him head first into the stairs. Sheamus then gets Cena back in the ring to hit his patented big boot on John Cena. Sheamus taunts toward the fans only for the NXT guys to come out and chase Sheamus out the ring. The NXT guys then take John Cena's limp body and send him over the announcer's table. Skip Sheffield then tips the table on top of Cena. We then see Vince McMahon enter the ring and invite the NXT guys in. McMahon says that he was the one behind the whole NXT thing - especially the attack on Bret Hart. McMahon brags as the crowd boo, but then gues what... the NXT guys circle Vinnie Mac and they pounce on him! Sheffield hits a devastating clothesline, Barrett does his signature and Gabriel goes up top to perform the 450 splash on the Chairman of World Wrestling Entertainment. A pocket of the fans are chanting 'N-X-T' as Monday Night RAW closes to the befallen Vincent Kennedy McMahon.

Another solid Raw. There was no lame ass guest host this week and I liked that. Rob Zombie is to host next week, so back to wasting TV time. Jericho vs. Bourne was a really good match and so was Sheamus vs. Cena. I was not surprised that Vince was behind the NXT Rookie's attack on Raw and Bret, but I was surprised when the Rookie's turned on Vince. This was a good Raw all the way through. The only down segment for me was the Mixed Tag Match with The Great Kahli, Ratings Killer.
