Michael Bisping vs. Yoshihiro Akiyama To Be Main Event Of UFC 120 In London

UFC Middleweight, Michael Bisping will be in the main event of UFC 120 taking place in his home country of England on October 16 when he faces Yoshihiro Akiyama in London, England.

A source close to the fight revealed the news earlier today to MMABay.co.uk during a telephone call. MMABay had reported that Bisping would be fighting Vitor Belfort on that night but now reports that the UFC decided against that fight.

Bisping is coming off a victory over Dan Miller at UFC 114 back in May. Before that he suffered a decision loss to Wanderlei Silva at UFC 110.

Akiyama is coming off a submission loss to Chris Leben last weekend at UFC 116.

They keep putting Sexy against strikers with power...this could be dangerous for him. Bisping doesn't have anywhere near the chin that Leben has, but he's a little more in the mold of Belchar (if you take a little chin off Bisping and put it into his power).

I am totally shocked that Bisping is on the next London card. Whoever would have guessed the that he would be on that card?

I expect Paul Daley to be on there too. Wait a minute...

What about Dan Hardy?

I think he will. I know he's fighting Carlos Condit though.

You are right, I can't read. The reason I ask that question is that seems like a weak main event. Will this end up being on Spike? If not, probably won't make an effort to watch this one.

No clue, haven't heard anything about this one being free. Can't remember which card Dana said would be the make-up for the Silva crap.

I hope this one isn't it because this one would be barely worth free. The free UFC event usually happens in Nov. for whatever that is worth. Last year, the main event was Vera vs. Couture.

You mean Live on Versus or the Fight Night?

Live on Versus is Sat, Aug 1st. Last year, they had UFC 105 on Spike, for free, right? Or was Vera vs. Couture a FN main event? I am thinking it was UFC 105 though.

^^Probably UFC 105. I don't think Couture would ever be on any Fight Night, ever.

So, that is why I was thinking this card looks like a freeby.
