Publishing are a UK-based company, spun out of the mighty beast that was Forbidden Planet and Titan Distributors (now Diamond UK) that used to really show you what a monopoly was.
Currently they are best known for redistributing and reprinting DC graphic novels and trades for the UK bookstore, as creating tie-in movie books such as Watchmen and the upcoming Kick-Ass and their media-spinoff comics and magzines, such as Batman, Simpsons and Tank Girl, tie-in magazines to 24, Lost, Torchwood, Heroes and CSI.
But this is something new.
Titan Publishing is publishing a new line of World Wrestling Entertainment comics in the USA and Canadian direct market, kicking off with WWE Heroes featuring WWE Superstars and Divas in March. A brand new fictional (really?) universe will be created for their stories to take place in… involving supernatural and fantasy themes.
Lord Of The Wrestling Rings? Could be…
Keith Champagne (GLC, JSC) will be writing the series with Andy Smith on art and Liam Sharp providing a variant cover to the first issue.
I can hear Paul O’Brien going weak at the knees as we speak.
Anyone want to even attempt to guess the story?
