- There is expected to be 2-3 more releases in WWE possibly starting as soon as this week. The speculated releases are Katie Lea Burchill and Vladimir Kozlov. WWE's latest releases include Maria, Paul Burchill, The Hurricane, Charlie Haas and referee Scott Armstrong.
I could careless about Kozlov, I have never seen what the WWE thinks is so great about him. I saw Katie Lea in OVW for months and I think she has real potential, but WWE has not given her a real chance to show what she can do. I think she would be big addition to the TNA Knockouts and it would be a big mistake for WWE to let her go.

| Neither surpise me but Katie Lea Burchill upsets me slightly. I never expected her to get a push but it's still a shame that she didn't. Overall, all these releases make perfect sense, with the only exceptions being Maria and Scott Armstrong. | |

| Hmm, I expected this would happen to most of the former ECW stars. I just hope Katie Lea either goes to TNA or stays to at least get a decent push. | |

I read a thing about why Maria was released and it basically said because of an interview she gave to the Sun. In that interview, she started talking about her intrest out the WWE and on having a family. She then said something about finding another job that would allow her to have a family. I don't know that this is the reason she was released and it is a dumb reason, but there you go.

| From what I've read, it had to do with the outside projects Maria was pursuing. WWE didn't perceive her as committed to the company as they wanted to so they let her go. Personally, I'm little saddened since Maria's my favorite Diva but I completely understand from a company's standpoint WWE's decision to let her go.
I'm hoping they will reconsider getting rid of Katie Lea because she never had a real shot in the company since day 1, aside a 1-month feud with Mickie James over the Women's Championship when she debuted. I can think of at least 3 other Divas they could get rid other than Katie Lea.
As for Kozlov, they tried to build him as WWE's version of Ivan Drago but he never caught on mostly because WWE made a basic mistake that they wouldn't have made 20 years ago: they didn't give Kozlov a mouthpiece to cut the promos and put him over. They obviously knew that Kozlov could hardly cut an understandable promo so why sending him to the wolves like they did? Once Triple H beat him at Cyber Sunday in his first PPV, his character completely was annihilated and he went downhill ever since.
