- TNA Wrestling superstar Elijah Burke was recently interviewed by ForceofWrestling.com and spoke about a number of topics, including his amateur boxing background, how he came up with his finishing maneuver, his favorite match and more. Here's what Burke said about:
Rejecting a Spot in the Spirit Squad: "Yes, I turned it down. It was not forced upon me but an opportunity for me if I wanted it. I chose not to put myself or career into a situation for the 'Right Now Money' as I plan on being around for a while in this business," Burke told forceofwrestling.com in an interview. "I knew the Spirit Squad would get a lot of TV time and PPVs 'cause Vince said so; it was his idea. But at what cost? A year later, the stench of the SS killed (or hurt) all of their careers," Burke said. "Kudos to Dolph Ziggler for working his butt off."
Chris Benoit: "I remember talking to him, and he would tell me that he forgets a lot of things, and how he would like for me not to be afraid to communicate with him," Burke said. "He had a condition that I've witnessed older people deal with all the time, being that my mother's a nurse. And let me tell you, one minute they're telling you to help them, and the next minute they're screaming, 'Help, there's a stranger in my room.' So by Chris's brain being worse than an 80-year-old Alzheimer patient's, then who knows."
Burke says Chris Benoit saw potential in him and took him under his wing. "He had handpicked me to help elevate to the next level," Burke said. "He called me the day before they say the first 'incident' happened to check on me following my back injury when he crashed into my knees during our first and last televised match. Does that sound like a monster to you?"
Signing with TNA: "My signing with TNA was about timing and both sides being happy, plain and simple." When asked if we'll see him back in the ring soon & where, he said, "Well, I think we all know the answer to this question by now, don’t we?."

| I'm apart of this site and I asked some of the questions in the interveiw. In fact, I asked him about rejecting the spot in the spirit squad, his thoughts on Benoit, and the TNA one, so basically all the bits of the interveiw shown here came from my question, thats really cool. I also asked him about the difference for him between wrestling and boxing. I also asked him about his finisher. Oh, if anyone thinks I'm lying I can post a screenshot of my yahoo account sending the questions and them responding to it.
Does anyone want me to post the full interview?

| ^Hmm, depends. I'm a fan of his so I felt most of the answers were interesting. The tibits aren't his full answer (at least for the Benoit thing, at least I don't think it is). Oh, Burke took my question about Benoit as me being a hater (at least it sounds like it) of Benoit, when he's in my top three favorite of all time but, the answer was interesting. The rest of the questions are...
I. What first attracted you to pro wrestling and led you to begin watching it?
II. What wrestlers did you idolize growing up? Who was your favorite?
III. What do you consider as being your greatest match in this point of your career?
IV. How did you come up with your finisher the Elijah Express?
V. Being a former amateur boxer and being a professional wrestler, what are some of the main differences, which of the two is easier and which one do you prefer?
VI. Any good backstage stories you would like to tell the fans about? Maybe a unique storyline that was meant to be but never happened or something along those lines?
By the way, the last quote, was the only one that didn't come from one of my question shown on that article. Which is, "Well, I think we all know the answer to this question by now, don’t we?"

| ^That’s a hard one.
I believe the greatest achievement match would be Mania 23 because of obvious reasons, but my greatest would probably be the triple-threat against Punk and Dreamer.
I was the lone bad guy against the top two good guys and after holding my own against the two, I came out of the match with a ton of respect from peers and fans alike who gave me a standing ovation after the hard-fought contest.
Burke's answer in italics. If I get asked to post another answer, I'm just going to post the whole thing.
