- The UFC has opted to change the date of their March 2010 PPV, held in Newark, NJ. Instead of the original date of March 13, it looks like it will be Saturday, March 27, 2010... the night before Wrestlemania 26. The problem for the WWE is that this move could have some viewers buying the UFC PPV instead of Wrestlemania 26, which will lead to a lower buyrate. Another problem for the WWE for the March 27 PPV is that George St. Pierres is set to main event that PPV and he's always drawn very high numbers for the UFC.
On a similar note, the UFC is going to air a Monday night Fight Night Live on SpikeTV on January 11, 2010 which will go head-to-head with Raw. This UFC event would come one week after the WWE/TNA head to head battle on January 4. The UFC 111 card includes: GSP vs Dan Hardy for the Welterweight Championship Shane Carwin vs Frank Mir for the Interim Heavyweight Championship And a rumoured bout is Rampage Jackson vs Rashad Evans.

| To be honest I wouldn't miss Rampage and Sugar for anything, but now we might see HBK vs Taker II so who knows. It's going to be stiff competition for UFC no doubt. | |

| ^^Stiff competition for WM 26 you mean WM is the biggest event for the WWE and the entire wrestling world really. UFC 111 is just another monthly event that the UFC will hold. If the UFC receives less buys, nobody would blame them because this is just another random PPV they have. Flip the script and imagine the backlash if WM lost in PPV buys to the UFC. | |

| Even though WWE and UFC are different forms of entertainment, this would be big the UFC. I am not sure how many WWE fans are UFC fans and vice versa. I know there are some on the board here, but this a small cross section of the people that buy PPV's. I am not sure one will really effect the other. Of course, if UFC pulls a million buys and WWE does less, people will claim that the UFC beat the WWE. I am a fan of the UFC, but my love of the WWE runs way deeper and I would not miss Mania for anything. | |

Not even a 3-way with Megan Fox and Angelina Jolie?

Not even a 3-way with Megan Fox and Angelina Jolie? Well, being in the sack with either of those 2 would take about 3 mins. I would probably be done twice right about the time the National Anthem is over, so I could have my 3-Way and Mania too.

Well, we could get that started at about 6 and then get to it before Mania starts.

And dinner and a movie, for a grand total of 4 hours of "lovemaking?" Anyway, I don't think there are enough fans who would want to see both PPV's that would choose one over the other. I believe that either people who want to see both will buy both, or that everyone who is only watching one of the two would have done so regardless of the other's presence. People like me won't buy either and will simply watch one when it comes out on the internet, and the other (if the other) when a coworker brings the DVD into work. I honestly don't think either promotion has anything to worry about, nor do they have anything to be super excited about.

| I think the key thing for UFC here is that they put their best moneymaker on the card in Georges St. Pierre. He's hands down the biggest draw in the promotion and definitely the most talked about fighter with Brock Lesnar. And with Lesnar out indefinitely, Dana White will want to cash on every opportunity to make more money. On the business side, very smart move from Dana White. | |

| UFC, the only true competition left for the WWE.
Is Shane still snooping around it?

Is Shane still snooping around it? Funny you should ask. You have question, CJ finds answers. - Quote :

UFC President Dana White said in a recent interview that Shane McMahon has expressed interest in doing some consulting work with the Ultimate Fighting Championship, but did not know if the two would reach any kind of deal. Shane has also apparently been looking at possibly becoming involved with the Strikeforce promotion through intermediary and former WWE employee Carl DeMarco.
