I want to go over every rookie so far since the first round is coming to a close. I know its only been 4 weeks but I feel we got a fair enough look at all the rookies. Plus I want to see who change their view later on.
Danial Bryan and The Miz
I love the drama. Bryan is the most talked about rookie on the show. He wrestled for 10 years prior to this and should be the most experienced rookie here. But I have to agree with The Miz, his personality is as dry as a dessert. And to tell you the truth, he looks like a novice high flyer.
They say he put on a good performance against Jericho. I didn't see it. Don't know what everyone else was watching, but to me all the clips of him being technical seems like what he should be trying to do. He has not impressed me in the least.
I will say however that he has taken the biggest beaten of all the stars. First Y2J. Then Wade Barrack (another fight he looked subpar in... okay the rib bruise) decimated him. And why did they even try to put him in there with The great Khali. I know people think he's getting pushed but all I see is that the WWE is proving that it doesn't matter where you wrestled B4. You gotta do it here and to put it plain and simple he's not doing it.

I really haven't been impressed with Bryan Daniel. He needs to start using his technical offense more for me to become a fans as I really don't care for him high flying. At least more often than technical wrestling. With that typed, he has impressed me a little more in the tag match but otherwise he really has disappointed me. Not a surpise, when the hype was best wrestler in the world.

Well, last night he had to wrestle Kahli and no one can have a good match with Kahli.

Doesn't really matter who he had to wrestle or when. He needs to find a way to make it look good. I admit its kind of hard when they tell you that when you come off the ropes he's going to chop you. And your thinking okay how do I sell that. But had he put up better performances in the past the Khali match wouldn't even come up. Daniel Bryan is overrated simple and plain.

He may well be overrated. These Indy guys come in with this huge reputation and sometimes it is all hype. I heard about Colt Cabana for a long time and I got a chance to see him be Colt Cabana, I did not see the hype. For me, what he has done in the Indies matters very little. I want to see him be great on the big stage in wrestling. The match with Kahli was not that bad and the story the match told fits with what has been going on with Bryan recently. Miz sent his rookie to the giant and he put out a good effort, but I want to see him wrestle more and do more of what he is known for, before I label him the chosen one, the way the Indy marks have.

Take 6 mins to watch this vid.
In the match Bryan is playing the vet dick who's fucking around with the jobber. In his WWE matches he's playing the typical Indy wrestler who goes for the dumbass high flying moves.
Don't say he's a shit wrestler unless you've actually seen him wrestle a good match. At the moment he's building a gimmick and a story and he's portraying the typical indy wrestler.
Colt Cabana is an awesome wrestler, but he's more of a comedy styled wrestler. There's a few matches where he does more of a European mat based style that are quite fun to watch.
BTW his promos and shit in WWE are bland and horrible because that's what character he's playing. Remember how in wrestling people play characters? Well he's doing that right now, he's playing the character of a nervous, great wrestler with a dick for a mentor and having trouble getting a good start in the WWE.

Um is it me or was Azriel more exciting in this match. I will say he looked better here than he did against Suwa. This "American Drangon" is blowing smoke enstead of fire. I really can't believe this video was used as proof.
He can only do what he's done against smaller guys. I don't think he's getting a push rather an embarrassment. Being made an example out of.
Its like vince wants to prove that most these guys can't make it here. But heres a better video of him
I'll put some more up for you guys to judge him
If you didn't watch any you have to see this 15 second clip

WTF, Are you high? Azrial/Danielson is a fine example. Sorry there is no long entrance ramp, Expensive lighting and camera angles though. We have been focusing on the wrestlers

Pfft, that's a shit Low Ki/Danielson match. Seriously the WWE style does not compliment either man. The Danielson/Ghavo match is a showcase match to judge crowd reactions to Bryan. And any match that Danielson had in WWE previously were job matches.
There Danielson doing shit against a big man. In other matches Danielson has lifted Joe into the air and slammed him on multiple occasions, put him in numerous submission holds and had damn near 5 star matches with him.
I used the Azrial match to highlight the fact that he isn't wrestling his usual 5 star matches and insted telling a story which he is sucessfully doing judging by the way you're reating towards him.

Well yeah I am high but I'm not blind. I hope everyone watch the clips I've provided. I'll provide more if you like. I mean that arm twisting gimmick is only going to go but so far. What is he going to do. Twist Big Shows arm when he has to fight him for a title. Come on guy. I understand you like him but be realistic here. He'll never make it. you'll probably say they aint push him right, but take a long look at these videos, you'll see he's very sloppy, too predictable and just quite frank not good enough to be a major star in the WWE.
I love somoan joe but he's no big man. He's plump technician. lmao! When Bryan gets in there with powerhouses like Cena, Batista, Kane, Big Show, Triple H, KHALI lol love that one, Undertaker etc. what is he going to do. To make matters worse he has no mic skills. 10 years and no mic skills, why even come to the WWE. You guys got to feel me on this.

I don't need expensive lighting, but I do want to see the damn match. This example is fine, but I have watched ROH and FIP on DVD and a lot of the matches are not lit well enough to see the whole thing, they have like 3 cameras, so you miss a lot of the action, and the audio is pathetic. They don't have the live mic feed into the audio. The only thing you here is the house monitors, so you can barely hear the anything at all. OVW has better production then that for god sakes. I prefer to not watch wrestling with bad lighting and bad audio, so I will see what he can do in WWE.
Brayn is getting every chance to be a WWE Superstar right now, so, if he fails, you can't say they buried him or they did not give him a fair shot. Bryan has been the focus of a new WWE program since day one and more people have seen him wrestle in the last month then they did in years, while he was in the Indy's. I do agree that his mic skills and charisma is not that good right now and he does not seem ready to do mic segments when they ask him to. The first promo he did on NXT was dumb as shit and I have seen some of his pre-WWE promo work on DVD. His pre-WWE mic work is nothing to write home about, though I will bet I have a couple people tell me that I am wrong about that. Bryan is in a whole different league now and not every match is going to be about his technical wrestling. Some matches are going to be about furthering the storylines, like his match against Kahli and Wade Barret. Both of those matches told a story and the story was not "look at all of the wrestling holds I know." In the match with Kahli, the story was he gave it all he had, but he could not take down the giant. Defeating Bryan was not Kahli's first win by the way. He has wins over Taker, Batista, and many other top stars. Just because Bryan loses to Kahli, that does not mean he is buried by WWE. The loss to Wade Barret told a different story. Wade Barret exploited a rib injury caused by Barret's WWE Pro and WHC Chris Jericho. So to sum all of this up, all of you stop your bitchin and lets see how the last 12 weeks of NXT plays out.

oh 12 more weeks great. We'll really get to see who stands out. Seems a shame if its true that the winners are already picked, but at the same time, I know vince improvises well. So if someone stands out more he'll find a way to incorporate them or rethink his past dicisions. Bryan gets mic skills he get a fighting chance. If not we'll have to hear how he wasn't used right.

They said there will be 16 week seasons and there have been 4 episodes so far. Unless I have my math wrong, that leaves 12 weeks for this "season"
