Based on advertising out of the U.K., the original main events they were going to push were Umaga vs. the 'Jackass' crew lead by Johnny Knoxville, and John Cena vs. Edge. The Cena vs. Edge idea was dropped well before Edge got injured because Triple H wanted Randy Orton to get the title from Cena at SummerSlam.
