Huge Update On Heat Between Rock & Austin, More

There is definitely some friction between Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and WWE right now, both with management and some top wrestlers. John Cena touched on the issue during an interview recently published in the UK Sun where he questioned why Rock couldn’t attend more WWE events.

Rock has rejected WWE’s invitations to several events since he left the company for Hollywood, and this doesn’t sit well with Cena, Vince McMahon, Triple H and Steve Austin just to name a few. These guys feel that Rock could domore to payback the company and the fans that helped him become a star.

There are also a number of people within the company who sympathize with Rock’s situation though, as he’s become a hot name in Hollywood and is being advised to distance himself from pro wrestling. Rock makes a ton more money with movies than he could with wrestling, and obviously wants to do what will take care of his family.

In Austin’s case, it’s said that he wishes he was in the physical condition to continue wrestling, so it’s hard for him to understand why a guy like Rock wouldn’t want to do more in wrestling. Austin’s lengthy list of injuries likely won’t allow him to wrestle another full-length match. Rock and Austin haven’t stayed in touch with each other over the last few years and there was reportedly some friction between the two at the Hall of Fame ceremony on Saturday night.

Most of Rock’s defenders in WWE say that people are jealous of his success and are just hating on him, but seem to think that the situation with Austin is about much more than jealously. Austin is said to recognize the fact that Rock is doing great with his acting career, and that it could mean more opportunities for more wrestlers in Hollywood.

One source within WWE mentioned Rock returning to the ring at WrestleMania 25, but said that the chances of it happening are far less than 50/50 if for no other reson than his busy filming schedule.

Which is funny with Austin, because I just read a couple months an interview where Stone Cold said - "I can wrestle another two full years. I know that I can do that if I have to"

I assume he was talking about needing money, and ever being in that position, but to say his injuries have prevented him from ever wrestling a full match again, and to contridict himself as much as he does.... somehow I don't buy Austin's injuries near as much as he & the McMahons try to sell them.


I think Austin is just a perfectionist when it comes to stories & match structure.

The chances are definetly less than 50/50 they are 1/99 in my opinion. Look i like the Rocks movies or atleast some of them but and i would love it if he came back to wrestling. But it is a hard life in wrestling a componey that might screw you over, your always on the road and you get less pay than being a movie star. So i could kinda understand why but still he could atleast make appearences i mean we are the ones that made you a star i just think he could come and go like austin. It just kinda seems like he forgot about us fans.

The Rock will never return to wrestling. I say that with all confidence. Maybe one day when his acting career dries up, he MIGHT make some wrestling-associated appearences, but he'll never be in a ring again.

Hey Austin has had a broken neck...What do you want him to do turn into a wack job like Angle....A mans health is there own business and should have the decision if they want to chance it or not....He has a couple of kids to see after till there grown



Probably right Rock will never come back to wrestling...Heck I wouldn't bother either...Since he and Danni are still business parthers and running a lot of other business operations....He is most likely set for life....Atleast he has never had to resort to Steroids or Pain killers to get thru a day now that is a big accomplishment

Well lets see....You don't have a medical degree I can see....

Spinal Injuries at anytime especially in the area where Austin's injuries are can put him in a wheel chair and probably be Paralyse if he were to land wrong....Big different between the lowere spine and the the cerivical spine....Thats why you have an accident car or other wise they stick them in a collar brace till they know whats going on....

There's nothing wrong with being a perfectionuist with storylines and match structure - it means better matches and more sensible, entertaining storylines.

On the highlights of the HOF induction on ECW you can see that Austin only claps half-heartedly and resentfully when the rock comes on stage.

The truth is Austin is in his 40s and has had a broken neck before, now I'm not a doctor nor did I attend medical school but I have had the opprtunity to be inside a wrestling ring. Trust me if it hurt to land before you are even 20 I highly doubt he would be able to land in his 40s. Then again the WWE are pussies and make there ring softer then indys...

Obviously either Austin and The Rock are no longer active wrestlers, so it really doesn't matter so much does it?

I love Austin, but I just don't see how bad blood between Austin, who comes to Raw once in a while and The Rock, who hasn't been on Raw for at least 3 or 4 years is going to affect the WWE right now

You know what, there is a story here and the story is The Rock has become a Hollywood douche. He has forgotten about the co. that gave him a chance to become The Rock and he has forgotten the fans that made The Rock. Stone Cold obviously doesn't wrestle fuu time or even part time, but he does make time for the WWE and the fans that maed him who he is. I read an interview where Austin said he feels physically good enough to wrestle, but he just doesn't want to anymore, but he does do the periodic cameo and he was a pretty big part of Cyber Sunday last year. I know that The Rocks movie schedule is very hectic, but he should make time to show up to a WWE event once ever so often and when he does show up, he should not alienate the people he once worked with and the people who helped him get where he is today. The Rocks Disney career is now more important to him then his wrestling career. I just have a hard time excepting that he couldn't have told Disney that he had a really important apperance to make WrestleMania Sunday and hang around to appear at WrestleMania for something. I don't know what, but something. Come to the ring, Rock Bottom someone, throw The Peoples Elbow, and tell the fans Finally The Rock has come back to WrestleMania. The Rock has gone Hollywood and is never coming back and I think that is wrong. The Rock is on his WWE career, on the WWE and the people he worked with and on the WWE fans

Well Austin has not turn his back on the wrestling or their fans not like the Rock atleast Austin shows up ever now and then but The Rock wouldn't and only reason he even show up at HOF was because of his father & Grandfather and i heard he was a real jerk with the wwe stars at the HOF.

Yes, the Rock has sold out. Personally, I disagree with his decision - he is betraying the WWE fans that made him. However, if you look at it from a distanced point of view, he is getting more money and is not constantly on the road, so from just the financial perspective it makes sense. Which just goes to show the Rock is all about money.

Rock had done everything he had came to the WWE to do....Now its time to move on....If your bashing him for moving on in life then come on now.

Lets bash the rest of the Wrestling world that have moved on to other things...Jessie the Body Ventura went on to publics....among others, The horsemen have mad the first appearance in years and why? for Rick Flair and nothing more.... You guys need to get a life.....Is wrestling all about your life has it sounds like it....Do any of you date, go to other school functions lead some other kind of life away from the internet and Wrestling Tv seven days a week...

People are entitled to have other loves then just the Wrestling world yea its entertainment yes but comeon now I know your bound to have some other life then just the addiction to Wrestling....If not your in pretty bad shape in your lives if Wrestling is all that they have...

Rock has done it all everything that he came to do...Now he hasn't sold out to anything he has just moved on to breener pastures and if you look around might see for yourself there are other big worlds then JUST WRESTLING 100 percent of your life....

I am fully aware of that. I have no problem with the Rock moving onto other things, what I have a problem with is him not making any appearances for the people that made him: the WWE.

No wrestling fan os asking for 100 percent of the Rocks life. We would just like to see him show up at Raw once in a while.

The Rock feels his 'bigger' than the low class wrestling now.
